Circle of Fortune Overview
This guide will cover everything you need to know about the Circle of Fortune; one of the two trading factions in Last Epoch! This faction is for players who want to hunt for their items, instead of trading with others. Learn how to join the Circle of Fortune, what it has to offer, and how you can become your own loot master!
Introduction
Last Epoch rewards players who enjoy finding, crafting, and trading powerful items to enhance their characters. However, for those who prefer not to engage in trading with other players or deal with the hassle of selling items, there is an alternative option: the Circle of Fortune.
The Circle of Fortune comprises a secretive group of adventurers, valuing the thrill of hunting for rare and unique items in the dangerous lands of Eterra. They believe that the best way to obtain items is to find them personally, guided by the stars, to discover more powerful loot.
Joining the Circle of Fortune
To join the Circle of Fortune, you need to reach the Upper District of the mercantile city of Maj'Elka. Once in the city, speak to the NPC named Zerrick, who will introduce you to the Factions and their Central Hub. Upon choosing the Circle of Fortune, you gain access to the Observatory, located in northern Maj'Elka in the Divine Era.
The benefits of joining the Circle of Fortune include having access to Telescopes for observing the stars, which grant prophecies revealing locations for better loot.
Gaining Reputation and Favor
As a member of the Circle of Fortune, gaining ranks is essential to unlock the faction's full potential. Reputation is earned through quests, killing enemies, and completing prophecies. Favors, the currency for acquiring prophecies, are obtained through similar means. Check your Reputation and Favor levels by speaking to the Circle of Fortune representative or opening the Faction window.
Ranking Up and Unlocking Perks
The Circle of Fortune has 10 ranks, each offering unique perks and benefits.
Here are the different bonuses from ranking up:
- Rank 1: Enemy Item Drop Chance. Enemies have a 35% chance of dropping twice as many items.
- Rank 2: Upgraded Rune of Ascendance. 45% chance for Runes of Ascendance to be preserved when used on an item that requires at least Circle of Fortune Rank 1.
- Rank 3: Extra Idol Drop Chance. Whenever an Idol drops, there is a 25% chance for two more to drop at the same time.
- Rank 4: Exalted Affix Chance. Affixes are 50% more likely to be Exalted.

- Rank 6: Legendary Potential Chance. Uniques are twice as likely to have Legendary Potential.
- Rank 7: T7 Affix Chance. T7 Affixes are twice as common.
- Rank 8: Rare to Exalted Chance. Items that would drop as Rare above Level 44 have a 25% chance of becoming Exalted.

- Rank 10: Prophecy Reward Upgrade. Items from Prophecies are duplicated.
Prophecies
Prophecies, special items purchasable in the Observatory in exchange for favors, yield rarer item drops, improved stats, and more upon completion.
To obtain prophecies, visit the Observatory, where four Telescopes point in different directions: North (Arctus), East (Eos), West (Dysis), and South (Mesembria). Choose the telescope based on the item type you desire: Armor, Weapons, Idols and Crafting materials, or Accessories.
Hover through the starry sky to view information about prophecies:
- Favor cost: The better the reward, the more Favor required.
- Prophecy event: Requirements to make the prophecy happen, such as killing a boss or a specific number of enemies.
- Prophecy Conditions: Additional conditions, like working in a certain area or difficulty level.
- Prophecy Rewards: Rewards upon completing the prophecy, such as rare armor pieces, necklaces, unique weapons, or legendary potential items.
You can hold up to 48 prophecies at the same time and manage them in the Faction window.
Lenses
Lenses, special items you can buy from your Faction Vendor to enhance telescopes in the Observatory. They help you find better prophecies for desired items and can be purchased from the Faction vendor.

Two types of Lenses exist: Regional Lenses (specific to one telescope and item type) and Greater Lenses (work on any telescope). The bonus of Greater Lenses can be strengthened by using multiple of the same kind.
Lenses assist in making prophecies less random and more focused on desired items.
