Eleventh Hour Games have officially started the Season 2 Hype Week! This week will be punctuated by various posts, discussions, and information about the upcoming season for The Last Epoch! Hype Week will be going until the release of patch notes on April 11th, and the launch of the new season!

The first day of Season 2: Tombs of the Erased hype week is all about the new upcoming faction, and the Monolith changes! Here is everything that we know!

Monolith of Fate – Cemeteries & Tombs of the Erased

In Season 2, you will have to face The Weaver, a Titan who seeks to create a new world free from the Void and other imperfections. When you enter your Monolith of Fate, you will find new challenges: Tombs and Cemeteries of the Erased.

Tombs and Cemeteries will be part of your new endgame systems in Season 2. They introduce procedurally generated side zones that will each be unique and different!

Inside Tombs, you can find The Woven and the souls they captured for The Weaver. Those were wrapped in Cocoons. Your goal is to break those Cocoons to release the souls. These souls will then possess nearby enemies, giving them new skills, increased health, and damage. Those possessed enemies will drop new items called Memory Amber when you kill them.

Memory Amber is a new currency that you will need for the new Weaver’s Faction, so collect as much as possible!

At the end of each Tomb, you will face the Goldthread Fateweavers. Once defeated, you will get access to the Woven Enchanter Device, where you have the opportunity to enchant your idols with some of the Weaver’s power, as well as obtain a duplicate of the current echo as a bonus reward.

The Cemeteries of the Erased, on the other hand, are a new Echo type that will contain more dangers and more rewards. Inside of those, you need to locate and defeat The Woven Firstborn who is guarding the Weaver’s Altar. Once defeated, you get access to the Altar, where you can place Woven Echoes in order to manipulate your current timeline.

The Woven Faction

In order to access the new faction, you need to complete your first Cemetery. After that, you will be introduced to Masque, and you will have the chance to join the followers of The Weaver – The Woven Faction.

You progress through this faction by earning and spending Memory Amber that you can find in Tombs and Cemeteries.

When you rank up, Masque will sell you new Woven Echoes: an alternate reality constructed by the Weaver that has been captured in a physical form. They are unique echoes that need to be placed on the Altar of the Weaver inside of Cemeteries.

On top of that, ranking up will also grant you points to spend on the Weaver Tree. This tree will influence your Monolith of Fate.

The Weaver Tree

This skill tree is similar to any other tree and functions in exactly the same way. The only difference is that it is focused on the Monolith of Fate. There are a total of 50 points that you can earn and spend on the Weaver Tree.

Some nodes can, for example, increase the odds of specific rewards or echo types or raise the spawn rates of encounters such as Nemesis, Exiled Mages, or Loot Lizards. Some can even be target farmed by imprinting items directly onto the Weaver Tree. This means that you will have a chance to create similar items when slaying enemies, completing echoes, or opening caches.

What Else Can You Expect?

Hype Week Day 1 also revealed the following new and updated features you will find during Season 2:

  • Woven Echoes: We already mentioned those, but in order to be more clear, Woven Echoes can be dropped from Tombs and Cemeteries or purchased from the Masque at the Haven of Silk, where the Woven Faction Hub is. There are a total of 36 Woven Echoes, and you can add as many as you want to your timeline at the Altar of the Weaver in Cemeteries.
  • Woven Echoes give you access to:
    • New crafting rewards
    • New encounters and mechanics
    • New endgame bosses like the Draal Queen
    • New unique items
    • Bosses such as Uber Aberroth
    • And more
  • Idol Enchanting: At the end of Tombs and Cemeteries, you will be able to enchant your idols. This creates Heretical Idols with Enchanted affixes and Weaver’s Touch. Those have up to 4 affixes (2 normal with no tiers and 2 enchanted affixes that can go up to tier 7). You can also reroll them if needed.
  • Weaver Idols: These are new types of idols that can roll affixes that come from a new pool of exclusive affixes.
  • New Weaver’s Will items:
    • Orb Weaver’s Fang – Two-Handed sword that boosts melee damage, critical strike chance, and dodge rating. It also doubles its own stats after striking a Boss or Rare enemy that has low health.
    • Nest of Nightmares – One-handed Mace that inflicts spiders on enemies and boosts yours and your minion’s melee critical strike multiplier and provides you and your minions with some leech.
    • Inheritance of the Erased – Amulet that grants Frenzy and 200% of its own stats to a random minion every 10 seconds.

Additionally, the launch of Last Epoch Season 2 comes with a bunch of new supporter packs, such as the Woven Traveler pack, which includes a unique Capybara pet!
