Back on April 1st, also known as April Fools’ Day, Eleventh Hour Games teased us with a fake dating sim post titled Love Epoch, featuring a charming capybara as one of the joke highlights. But it turns out, one part of the April Fools’ post was hiding the truth: the Capybara Pet is real and officially coming with Last Epoch Season 2.
The news was quietly confirmed during the latest developer stream and immediately shared on Reddit and other community platforms, causing quite a bit of excitement. Multiple posts and comments have celebrated the pet’s unexpected reveal, with many players saying it will be their first-ever MTX purchase, even among those who normally play offline.
“This might be the first cosmetic MTX I ever pay for.”
“I play offline… but I’m buying this bad boy as soon as it’s available.”
A few Last Epoch fans also took the opportunity to compare the game’s cosmetics to other ARPGs, noting how fun and lighthearted MTX like the Capybara feel very refreshing.
