The Black Sun - Rahyeh Boss Guide
Rahyeh is the final boss of The Black Sun Monolith Timeline in Last Epoch. The fight takes place in the Ruins of Solarum and is a fast-paced, single-phase encounter with heavy Void damage. Rahyeh has access to all his abilities right from the start of the fight, and has pretty straightforward mechanics.
Boss Mechanics
Here is a detailed breakdown of all major abilities and what to watch out for.
Divebomb
Rahyeh will mark the ground with a purple circle, then fly up and smash back down onto the targeted area, dealing massive damage if you get hit. The second he flies up, move out of the area on the ground to avoid it.
Void Blast
Rahyeh will again target the ground with a purple circle before making it blow up and deal massive Void Damage. Here as well, you have a split second to move out of the circle before the explosion triggers, so keep a mobility skill ready.
Void Beams
Rahyeh will move to the center of the arena. When he does, you will have to be very attentive; he will launch out various cones originating from the center of the arena on opposing sides of each other that deal massive Void damage. There is a split second before the cones trigger an explosion, giving you time to move out. He will either spawn them clockwise or counterclockwise, so pay attention to the first two, and then walk the other way around.
Void Dash
Rahyeh will fly up again, and spawn back on the outside of the arena, before dashing in a straight line forward, leaving a void trail dealing DoT if you step in it.
Void Skyfall
Multiple Void meteors will start falling down. The placement of these is random, you only need to move if the aoe circles pop up under your character. They're fairly small, but there's a lot of them.
Void Minions
Void Minions will spawn when his projectiles hit the ground. They are rather weak and will not pose any threat.
Encounter Walkthrough & Strategy
This is a one-phase fight, and rather straightforward. Once you know his attacks, they are not very hard to evade.
- Stay mobile — most attacks are avoidable with proper movement.
- Watch for Void Beams rotations and when he flies up — these are the biggest threats.
- Use movement skills such as
Shift and
Teleport for repositioning.
- Keep uptime during brief safe windows — deal burst damage when possible.
Recommended Defensive Stats
- 75% Void Resistance as this will be his only damage type
- High movement speed is strongly recommended
Unique Boss-Specific Rewards
Rahyeh has four possible unique drops:
Atrophy and Dark Shroud of Cinders are common drops with a 50% chance each. They are mutually exclusive, meaning only one can drop per kill. Both items are available in Normal and Empowered timelines, and their drop rates are not affected by Corruption.
Eternal Eclipse is a rare drop that can drop in either Normal or Empowered timelines, but the drop rate increases significantly at higher Corruption levels.
The Confluence of Fate is exclusive to Empowered Monoliths and has a low drop chance. Farming at higher Corruption increases your odds.

Harbinger of Hatred
The Harbinger for this Timeline if the Harbinger of Hatred. He will keep some skills from Rahyeh The Black Sun:
- He will mark the ground with a purple circle and slam it. There are a few seconds before he smashes down, which leaves you enough time to move out.
- He will keep the raining Void meteors.
- Similar to Rahyeh, the Harbinger will send out conal attacks. These do not hit nearly as hard as Rahyeh's, but they are faster.
Harbinger Unique Drops
- World Splitter
- Harbinger's Needle
Additionally, Harbingers drop the Harbinger Eye which is needed if you want to summon Aberroth.
