Control Glaivier Gearing Guide for Lost Ark
Brandishing two weapons, a Glaive and a Spear, Glaivier offers fluid gameplay at both close and mid-range. Packed full of utility and being one of the more mobile advanced classes in the game, Glaivier comes in two playstyles, Control and Pinnacle.
Control: Accessories, Card Sets, Engravings and Gearsets
Control mainly uses Swiftness with secondary Crit stat.
The bonuses from Earth's Entropy set already provide Critical Rate and
Damage and you'll have no need for Specialization when
using this engraving. With high Swiftness you'll have an easier time with
skill uptime and utilize
Raid Captain.
Card Sets
Card sets are shared across both engravings for Glaivier. In the early game you can use cards
that help with survivability such as Field Boss II,
We'll Meet Again and
Forest of Giants. For optimal damage you'll want
Light of Salvation at 18 or 30 awakening,
though is quite a late game goal.
Lostwind Cliff provides additional Critical Rate and is a solid
stand-in as you gradually work towards
Light of Salvation.
Engravings
You won't find a plethora of options for engravings, things are fairly cut and dry. Below are a series of recommended choices:
Engraving | Priority | Description |
---|---|---|
![]() |
Necessity | Provides a massive damage bonus compared to every other engraving, must have at Level 3. |
![]() |
Very High | This is a staple damage engraving. As a DPS you should be using this as an immediate slot-in for your setup. |
![]() |
High | A significant amount of your DPS consists of Back Attacks. This is a core engraving to take! |
![]() |
High | Another core engraving given our main stat is Swiftness, grants 18% damage at 140% Move Speed. |
![]() |
High | Provides Attack Power at the expense of lower healing. A consistent option compared to ![]() |
![]() |
High | Gives Critical Rate and Attack Power, but scales worse as your crit chance increases. Interchangeable with ![]() |
Gearsets
Starting in Legendary gear, you'll want the Preordained Diligence set from Argos to give you
additional Critical Rate. You can use the 2-piece gear from Valtan Normal but it's only recommended if you
intend on parking your character at 1415. Once you obtain Relic gear, your only option will be Earth's Entropy gear.
Earth's Entropy Chestpiece's set bonus grants us large amounts of Critical Rate & Damage, on top of increased Back Attack damage. Including your own Synergy,
you'll hover around 65% Critical Rate. Approximately 17% from Crit, 10% from Back Attacks, 20% from Lv.2 Earth's Entropy's 2-piece bonus & 18% from
Shackling Blue Dragon.
Accessories and Stat Distribution
You'll be primarily running Swiftness with secondary Crit.
