Hunger Reaper Skill Guide for Lost Ark
The highly mobile Reaper sports a dagger as it's weapon, alongside of the ability to vanish on command and even summon clones of itself to defeat enemies. Reaper can cycle through three modes of combat: Normal, Persona, and Chaos.
Hunger: Skill Descriptions, Tripods, Gems and Runes
Dagger Skills
Dagger skills increase your Persona and Chaos gauge and also include Reaper's synergy and its counter skill.
Nightmare
Nightmare is a staple skill in Reaper's toolkit, giving amazing freedom of movement and
Poison: Corrosion which is Reaper's synergy. Pressing the skill once throws your dagger, with the combo action warping you opposite of your current location. There is a purple circle showing the range of your teleport and a blue outline on the skill indicating the time left to teleport. With the tripod
Back Attack the second hit is the counter hit, letting Reaper counter even when from behind the boss if you warp to the front and strike.
Shadow Vortex
Shadow Vortex also applies Reaper's synergy but has a unique tripod that reduces the cooldown of Swoop skills when used. With its low cooldown, you'll always be using this skill not just to fresh Chaos Mode's buff but also to reduce your Swoop cooldowns.
Spinning Dagger
- An AoE skill that also can apply
Poison: Corrosion. Its use is mainly inside Chaos Dungeons, replacing
Nightmare.

Shadow Skills
Shadow skills increase your Persona and Chaos gauge moreso than Dagger skills but do not provide synergy like your Dagger skills.
Distortion
- A movement skill at first glance that builds meter on hit.
Distortion is useful at refreshing your Chaos Mode buff even on whiff. The cooldown is relatively short and this skill teleports you through enemies, allowing you to reposition quickly after other skills or your spacebar dash.

Shadow Storm
- A huge meter builder that a fairly long cooldown. It's third
tripod
Shadow Zone shortens the animation lock to give you more freedom. This skill also refreshes your Chaos Mode buff on whiff, but due to it's longer cooldown,
Distortion is still preferred to serve that purpose.

Swoop Skill
Swoop skills are your big damage buttons that are crucial to land when buffed. They have longer cooldowns than Dagger and Shadow skills, some having tripods to mitigate this.
Dance of Fury
- This has a faster animation compared to the other Swoop skills, but
has shorter range than most. It has the longest cooldown out of all Swoop
skills making it best to be paired with
Glowing Brand.

skills making it best to be paired with
Glowing Brand
- A jumping attack that gives some range of movement to reposition back behind the boss. Typically used in succession with Dance of Fury, due to similar cooldowns and the movement to ensure Dance of Fury won't miss.
Rage Spear
- Very strong damage button that has an exclusive tripod that increases
damage if it lands as a Back Attack. Shares a cooldown with
Silent Rage, making it a good pair to use on cooldown.

- This skill is only taken by
Hunger, it's initially a bit of an awkward animation until you get the tripod
Sharp Fall that makes it faster.

Tripods
Dagger Skills
Nightmare takes the synergy tripod
Poison: Corrosion to decrease enemy defense by 12%. Using the second
tripod
Quick Prep ensures easy upkeep of your synergy and Chaos Mode buff.
Back Attack enables
Nightmare to serve as a counter.
Shadow Vortex takes the synergy tripod
Poison: Corrosion to decrease enemy defense by 12%.
There is an option between
Quick Prep and
Fatal Dagger for the second tripod, though
Hunger has no
issues with self maintenance and
Shadow Vortex already has a low cooldown so the extra critical rate is preferred.
Swoop Activation is a must have, decreasing the cooldown of all Swoop skills by a minimum of 1.5s and a maximum of 1.9s.
With its high uptime, you'll always be pressing this button when it comes up to ensure more usages of Swoop skills.
Shadow Skills
Distortion takes
Quick Prep as its first tripod. Chaos Mode's buff can be refreshed
upon whiff and the reduced cooldown makes
Distortion align better with the buff's duration.
Fatal Shadow increases critical rate but the skill is prioritized more as a utility, be
it movement or maintaining Chaos. In high uptime fights, it can be considered an option.
Tailwind can be used to synergize with
Raid Captain, giving increased damage before your
Swoop skills. If you're not running
Raid Captain or low on skill points, you wouldn't be missing much not taking this.
Shadow Storm rolls with
Piercing Strike,
Quick Prep and
Shadow Zone. Ignoring enemy
defense is more valuable than
Fatal Shadow critical rate.
Quick Prep and
Shadow Zone
greatly helps with the skill's long cooldown and the Holding skill property, granting more
flexibility.
Swoop Skills
Dance of Fury uses
Piercing Strike for effectiveness against enemy defense.
Chaos Enhancement is a tripod exclusive to this skill and
Glowing Brand that
increases damage while Chaos Mode is active.
Suppressed Move makes the animation
quicker and is better base damage over the critical rate from
Shadow Dance.
Glowing Brand can take
Vital Point Hit for more critical rate.
Stagger Enhancement
can be used if your group is really struggling with stagger damage.
Chaos Enhancement is a
tripod exclusive to this skill that increases damage while Chaos Mode is active.
Testament gives way more base damage than
Shadow Snare.
Rage Spear has the option between
Fatal Dagger and
Quick Prep for more critical
rate or a shorter cooldown.
Quick Prep is preferable to work with the reduction from
Swiftness and
Shadow Vortex's
Swoop Activation, enabling more skill uptime.
Ambush
increases Back Attack damage and
Concentrated Attack grants
more unconditional base damage and increases the range.
Silent Rage should have
Quick Prep,
Sharp Fall and
Ground Smash. For the second tripod,
Shadow Afterimage is a possible option for more damage, though
Sharp Fall shortens the
awkward starting animation which can prove more valuable in a raid scenario.
Skill Runes
Nightmare:
Bleed has high uptime due to this skill's low cooldown.
Shadow Vortex:
Quick Recharge synergizes with the
Swoop Activation tripod.
Shadow Vortex low cooldown means more chances to proc this rune.
Distortion:
Rage and
Quick Recharge can be used for bursts of speed or lowering cooldowns, especially for Swoop skills.
Shadow Storm: As your biggest gauge builder,
Wealth is a must have to build Chaos Meter quickly.
Dance of Fury:
Galewind and
Quick Recharge can be used for a faster skill animation or lowering cooldowns if you use this skill as a pair after
Glowing Brand.
Glowing Brand:
Galewind for the faster skill animation.
Rage Spear:
Galewind for the faster skill animation.
Silent Rage:
Overwhelm,
Galewind and
Quick Recharge can be used for increased stagger, faster skill animation or lowering cooldowns when used as a pair after
Rage Spear.
