The Gunlancer uses both a gunlance and a shield to both destroy their enemies and protect their allies. Gunlancers come jam-packed with an arsenal of support actions, as well high damaging skills, making it versatile in all environments. Gunlancer comes in two playstyles, Combat Readiness and Lone Knight.

1.

Lone Knight: Accessories, Card Sets, Engravings and Gearsets

Solo Knight Icon Lone Knight is extremely straight forward when it comes to builds. You have two options for stats; Crit or Swiftness. Depending on which you decide to play as will determine which engravings you have to pick from. This playstyle is an Entropy Icon Earth's Entropy user, there is no other option.

2.

Card Sets

Card sets for Gunlancer are very straight forward. If you have access to it, Light of Salvation Icon Light of Salvation is the set to equip for Legion raids affected by Light-type damage. For any other content, or if Light of Salvation Icon Light of Salvation is unavailable, Lostwind Cliff Icon Lostwind Cliff is optimal for the increased Crit rate. If you're new to the game, feel free to equip any card set you have access to that increases survivability, such as Field Boss II Icon Field Boss II.

3.

Engravings

Combat Readiness Icon Combat Readiness has a little variation to choose from, since the class engraving itself can be used at either level 1 or level 3, which then affects which combat engravings you use. Decisions should be made based on budget, Relic gear set, and preferred playstyle.

Engraving Priority Description
Solo Knight Icon Lone Knight High Non-negotiable, this engraving must be taken at level 3. The Crit rate/damage benefits from it are too massive.
Grudge Icon Grudge High A staple in damage builds. Every DPS class in this game takes it, Gunlancer being no different. Defensive Stance Icon Defensive Stance makes the downside of Grudge Icon Grudge almost entirely negligible.
Super Charge Icon Super Charge High Affects both Charged Stinger Icon Charged Stinger and Surge Cannon Icon Surge Cannon, which equates to the majority of our damage. Not only does it increase our damage, it also speeds up the slowest actions in our kit.
Master Brawler Icon Master Brawler High In true Entropy Icon Earth's Entropy fashion, this engraving is a no-brainer.
Cursed Doll Icon Cursed Doll Optional Standard fifth engraving. The healing reduction shouldn't be too bad, considering how tanky you still are.
Adrenaline Icon Adrenaline Optional Should only be taken at level 3 with a Swiftness build, replace Cursed Doll Icon Cursed Doll. Feel free to use it at level 1 regardless of stat distribution.
Combat Readiness Icon Combat Readiness Bonus Engraving Only take this at level 1 if you're going to use it. The scaling is too bad to warrant taking it any higher.
4.

Gearsets

Starting in Legendary gear, you'll want the Harsh Oath Icon Harsh Oath set from Argos to give you additional Critical Damage. At this point in the game, you can mostly ignore the set from Valtan normal mode and immediately start transitioning into your only option, the Entropy Icon Earth's Entropy gear set. The damage difference is massive from using this, so don't be discouraged early on if your numbers are a little lackluster without it.

5.

Accesories and Stat Distribution

There's two options for red Gunlancer. You either stack Crit with bonus Swiftness, or you stack Swiftness with bonus Crit. Use the appropriate engravings depending on the playstyle you decide to choose. The Crit build has higher damage potential, and will have larger numbers popping up on the screen, if that matters to you.

    • 2x Crit Earrings
    • 2x Crit Ring
