Order of the Emperor Arcanist Skill Guide for Lost Ark
The Arcanist joins combat equipped with a Magick Deck and a plethora of Tarot Cards, each with it's own unique effect. Split between the Order of the Emperor and Empress's Grace playstyles, both builds will utilize three different types of skills: Normal, Stacking, and Ruin.
Order of the Emperor: Skill Descriptions, Tripods, Gems and Runes
Normal Skills
Arcanist's Normal skills build your Deck Meter and some provide Synergy for you and your party.
The Order of the Emperor Engraving increases the damage each of your Normal skills do.
Call of Destiny
Call of Destiny serves two functions, generating more cards and building stacks quickly.
Quick Draw grants a chance of drawing a card upon hitting a target. An important thing to note is that
Quick Draw can proc even when hitting invincible targets.
Fake Flip actually changes this skill to be Stacking, granting two stacks upon use. Arcanist has multiple builds to choose from, taking
Fake Flip makes your stack generation much quicker. Highly recommended to run a cooldown gem on this skill as you'll be using this on cooldown quite often.
Return
Return provides the party with Critical Rate Synergy and gives the Arcanist an insane boost in Critical Damage for 5 seconds. Within
Exposed Darkness is your main burst window, being buffed with your cards to deal great amounts of burst damage. The first part of this combo skill also serves as your Counter, just to make this already important button even more useful.
Unlimited Shuffle
Unlimited Shuffle is a good filler skill outside of Emperor's burst windows. It has some movement but does not have push or paralysis immunity.
Mysterious Stampede
Mysterious Stampede has high card draw potential with
Quick Draw and having two charges with
Mysterious Strategy. On top of having weak point and decent stagger, this skill adds a lot to Arcanist's toolkit.
Dark Resurrection
Dark Resurrection can do massive amounts of damage paired with
Return's buffs and the skill's own tripods.
Evoke
Evoke is Emperor's most important skill in terms of damage contribution, that being said it is crucial to have the awareness and knowledge in an encounter to use effectively. Damage on this skill takes awhile to actually come out which is a bit of a double-edged sword. It allows you to use skills such as
Stream of Edge and
Return to capitalize on the additional Critical Rate & Damage. However if you are unable to use it properly, you lose out a lot on DPS and Deck Meter.
Stacking Skills
Stacking skills are part of Arcanist's build up to increase damage on their Ruin skills. Some of these skills also provide Arcanist with self buffs or party Synergy.
Dancing of Spineflower
Dancing of Spineflower is an option that would replace
Call of Destiny as a normal skill thanks to
Fake Flip. While it does more damage, you'll generate less Deck Meter as a trade-off. The only other thing of note is that this skill requires you to be in melee range.
Stream of Edge
Stream of Edge provides Arcanist with a Move Speed, Critical Rate and builds stacks. Your buff from
Dark Edge is refreshed across the duration of the skill, enabling you to have increased Critical Rate over your burst windows. The additional Move Speed helps
Raid Captain's efficiency. It's highly advised to run a cooldown gem on this skill to ensure high uptime on
Dark Edge.
Ruin Skills
Ruin skills are your big money, big damage buttons that have huge bonuses attached to them detonating stacks and their tripods.
Celestial Rain
Celestial Rain does immense amounts of damage with the risk attached of having no push or paralysis immunity. It does have more range than other Ruin skills, so make sure you are in a safe position before using this to avoid interruption.
Tripods
Normal Skills
Call of Destiny takes
Nimble Movement, making the skill faster and harder
to whiff.
Quick Draw &
Fake Flip are must haves, further increasing Deck Meter generation.
Dark Resurrection takes
Piercing Strike,
Intense Card &
Furious Blow. To capitalize on the large increase
in Critical Damage, you'll want to be using this skill when under your buffs like
Dark Edge.
Return is fairly straightforward, giving party Synergy and a self-buff. It's recommended to take
Weakness Exposure,
Concentrated Card &
Exposed Darkness.
Unlimited Shuffle runs with
Shuffle of Destruction,
Core of Darkness for the extra Critical Rate and
Storm of Dest..
Quick Prep
is an option to avoid potential bottlnecks in your rotation.
Evoke takes a 1/1/1 setup with
Quick Prep,
Conc. Magick Circle
and
Split Magick Circle. There is an option to use
Overlap Magick Circle, which requires
adjustments on when to use it within your rotation.
Mysterious Stampede takes
Quick Draw,
Stampede Conc. &
Chain Attack.
Stacking Skills
Stream of Edge is a very important skill, giving Move Speed & Critical Rate from
Acceleration Stream and
Dark Edge.
Perfect Stream can be omitted if
you are strapped for skill points. If you opt to take
Dancing of Spineflower, you'll equip
Intense Dance,
Night Bloomer and
Fake Flip.
Ruin Skills
You'll want to max out all of Celestial Rain's tripods for increased damage a critical rate.
Those being
Vital Point Hit,
Enhanced Strike and
Weak Point Detection.
Skill Runes
Return's runes are player's choice between
Bleed and
Rage.
Evoke wants
Wealth for increased Deck Meter generation.
As you'll be spamming
Call of Destiny,
Bleed is a great choice given the
high uptime.
Unlimited Shuffle takes
Galewind for faster casting and
reducing your chances of missing the skill.
Dancing of Spineflower,
Dark Resurrection and
Celestial Rain all
can take
Galewind. Though for the latter two, your options broaden with
Rage,
Overwhelm for
Dark Resurrection. While both
Celestial Rain &
Dark Resurrection can take
Quick Recharge.
Mysterious Stampede and
Stream of Edge want
Quick Recharge.
Keep in mind that with limited selection of runes, swapping around or using blue runes is okay.
For instance, two
Quick Recharge doesn't exist, so you'll have to opt
for
Quick Recharge.
