All Armor Available in Monster Hunter Wilds
In Monster Hunter Wilds, your Armor and Equipment is vital to having success while hunting monsters. Armor provides stat upgrades, elemental resistances and even set bonuses. Here our Armor Hub showcases all Armor sets available in Monster Hunter Wilds.
What is Armor in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Armor in Monster Hunter Wilds determines a hunter's defensive strength, elemental resistances and overall appearance. Each piece of armor has individual stats that contribute to the overall effectiveness of the full set. Defense reduces the physical damage taken from monsters, while resistances affect how much damage is received from elemental attacks, such as fire, water, thunder, ice, and dragon. A well-balanced armor set can greatly improve survivability in hunts.
There are a total of five pieces that can be worn which are:
- Head
- Chest
- Arms
- Waist
- Legs
How Do You Obtain Armor?
Armor is crafted at the smithy using various materials, which are obtained by hunting specific monsters. These creatures drop different types of materials upon defeat, which can then be used to forge armor and other crafted items.
Additionally, some materials can be gathered by carving parts of the monster, such as its tail. Click the tab at the top of this page that reads Monsters and you will be redirected!
Armor Skills and Stats
In Monster Hunter Wilds, your Attack and Defense stats are crucial for surviving intense hunts. Defense is determined by your armor and directly affects how much damage you take from monster attacks. Higher defense values reduce incoming damage, while elemental resistances further protect against specific elemental threats. Attack, influenced by certain armor skills, can enhance your weapon’s damage output through buffs like increased raw damage and critical hit rate.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, your Hunter's survivability isn’t just about Attack and Defense, Elemental Resistances also play a key role. These resistances determine how much damage you take from elemental based attacks, which can make a huge difference in your hunts. These are:
- Fire Res
- Water Res
- Thunder Res
- Ice Res
- Dragon Res
These can be seen under the Change Equipment menu when entering the tent in base camp or by opening the Equipment Box.
Armor Customisation
There are a few ways in Monster Hunter Wild's to change the appearance of your Hunter, see below for more information!
One way to customise your Hunter is by using the Layered Armor system that lets you change how your hunter and Palico look without affecting their equipped gear. More information on Layered Armor will be coming soon!
How Do You Change Armor?
Entering the tent within the base camp allows you to view, change and sell your equipment and armor. Navigating to the Equipment Menu when entering the tent allows you to see the following menu:
Equipment Menu | Description |
---|---|
Change Equipment | The change equipment section allows you to select different pieces of armor that you have already crafted and have been stored away in your Equipment Box. Additionally, you can also change your primary and secondary weapon. To the right of each piece of equipment you can select different decorations if the piece of armor comes with slots. Each slot may have decorations from Level 1 - 3 depending on the piece giving different types of skills. As you are creating a set you can view equipment info on the far right of the screen enabling you to see what stats your set is giving you helping you to create a set that fits your play style. |
View/ Sell Equipment | The view/sell equipment section allows you to select different pieces of armor or weapons that are stored within the equipment box and sell them for Zenny. This can be a good option if you need to clean out your equipment box or are just looking for that extra bit of Zenny. |
View/ Sell Decorations | The decoration box can be accessed by selecting the View/ Sell Decorations button in the Equipment Menu. You can select which decorations you may no longer need and receive Zenny in exchange. The higher the rarity the more Zenny you will receive. |
When you go on Base Camp --> Change Equipment, you will see the equipment menu:
How Do You Change Armor Appearance?
