Bow HR 9-35 Armor Set
This next set should get you from the start of High Rank all the way to around Hunter Rank 35. To obtain the pieces, you will have to defeat Guardian Ebony, Guardian Doshaguma, and Guardian Rathalos a few times in order to gather all the materials. You can continue using your low-rank versions first until you reach the Guardians.
At this point, decorations are not really worth farming directly. Just use whatever you have, either to boost your current skills, add something new, or get a bit more defense if early High Rank fights are giving you trouble. That said, things should get easier soon. As you progress, you will unlock passive resource farms, so you will not need to grind for materials as much anymore.
Gear | Decorations | |
---|---|---|
Weapon | Prominence Bow I | N/A |
Head | G. Ebony Helm β | N/A |
Chest | G. Doshaguma Mail β | N/A |
Gloves | G. Rathalos Vambraces β | N/A |
Waist | G. Ebony Coil β | N/A |
Legs | G. Rathalos Greaves α | N/A |
Talisman | Surge Charm I | N/A |
The early High Rank setup here uses Prominence Bow I, a solid starting weapon with Power Coating support and high Critical Boost. The Rathalos tree is one of the best overall. Alternatively, you could go with Blinding Fulgur I for Level 3 Critical Element, but it only supports Close-Range Coatings.
This build handles early High Rank content easily. Critical Boost and Burst provide strong damage, while Weakness Exploit adds extra value for Bow users. Constitution and Stamina Surge help with stamina management. If stamina is still an issue, swapping 2-piece G. Rathalos for 2-piece G. Fulgur gives you a double stamina bar, which can make a big difference.
HR 9-35 Armor Set Skills and Set Bonuses
- Critical Boost - Level 3
- Burst - Level 3
- Constitution - Level 2
- Weakness Exploit - Level 2
- Stamina Surge - Level 1
- Windproof - Level 1
- Guardian Protection - Level 3
- Rathalos’s Flare - Level 2
- Ebony Odogaron's Power - Level 2
Bow HR 35-41+ Armor Set
Once you hit Rank 35 and 40, you will unlock hunts for Gore Magala and Arkveld: Two of the most important monsters in the current endgame. Their gear is among the best available until future updates arrive.
This setup is still part of the progression path, but it is strong enough to comfortably farm decorations, materials, or anything else you need while working toward a true endgame build, or just experimenting with different setups.
Gear | Decorations | |
---|---|---|
Weapon | Entbehrung I | Spread Jewel III Trueshot Jewel II |
Head | Gore Helm β | N/A |
Chest | Arkvulcan Mail β | N/A |
Gloves | G. Arkveld Vambraces β | Sane Jewel I Sane Jewel I |
Waist | Gore Coil β | Flayer Jewel III Mighty Jewel II |
Legs | Gore Greaves β | N/A |
Talisman | Counterattack Charm II | N/A |
By now, you should be able to craft just about anything on the weapon tree. As soon as Entbehrung I becomes available, switch to it. If you have access to Verzweiflung, that is even better, because it offers more Dragon damage and an extra decoration slot, but requires Hunter Symbol III to craft. Both weapons come with Power and Blast Coatings, though you should mostly stick to Power Coatings for optimal damage!
This setup focuses on Gore Magala's Frenzy + Antivirus synergy. You will trigger Frenzy automatically when fighting large monsters, and Antivirus makes it easier to recover from it, rewarding you with bonus Affinity when cured. At Antivirus Level 3, you get a solid +10% Affinity, giving your damage a nice boost. Combined with Burst and Weakness Exploit, you will be hitting even harder. A few points in Constitution help keep your stamina under control.
If you have it, consider adding the Corrupted Mantle too, because it gives even more Affinity and Attack under the right conditions.
Talisman and Key Decoration Options
Try to slot a Spread Jewel and Trueshot Jewel on your weapon. This gives a nice boost to Power Coatings and improves your special shots like Dragon Piercer, Thousand Dragons, and Tracer.
Ideally, get two Sane Jewels to push Antivirus to Level 3 for that sweet +10% Affinity. After that, you can either focus on maxing Weakness Exploit or Burst, or add more stamina support by leveling Constitution or Stamina Surge.
For the Charm/Talisman, we recommend Counterattack Charm II, as it gives you Adrenaline Rush, which pairs well with solo play. Well-timed dodges will trigger extra attack power, making your damage even more consistent.
HR 35-41+ Armor Set Skills and Set Bonuses
- Critical Element - Level 3
- Weakness Exploit - Level 3
- Antivirus - Level 1 (+2 from decoration)
- Special Ammo Boost - Level 2
- Burst - Level 2
- Constitution - Level 2
- Adrenaline Rush - Level 2
- Spread/power Shots - Level 1
- Flinch Free - Level 1
- Gore Magala's Tyranny - Level 2
Endgame
Listed below you will find a a quick overview of our recommended endgame Bow setup, including the best weapon choices and ideal decorations to use.
Endgame Artian Bow
The Artian Bow is currently the top choice in Monster Hunter Wilds. It has high base attack, three Level 3 decoration slots, and supports element infusion for strong elemental scaling. If you equip three of the same element, you will unlock Element Infusion, which boosts your element stat by +30. Equipping two of the same element will simply apply that element to the weapon.
What is the Best Artian Bow?
Right now, Angelbein is the best Artian Bow available. It comes in different variations depending on your Production and Reinforcement Bonuses:
- Production Bonuses set the element type and add stats like Attack or Affinity.
- Reinforcement Bonuses are random when upgrading with reinforcement materials. If you do not like the result, you can reroll by quitting to the title screen before saving.
When choosing your elemental type, feel free to pick whichever element fits your build or target monster. Just make sure to select three of the same element, as this is required to activate Element Infusion: a +30 boost to your elemental stat. You will also need to match that element with one of the Jewels slotted into the weapon.
For Production Bonuses on the Angelbein, try to get:
- Element Infusion (for elemental scaling)
- Affinity Infusion (for better Crit synergy)
As for Reinforcement Bonuses, you will want to prioritize:
- Element - to further boost elemental damage
- Affinity - to improve your critical hit chance and damage
Lastly, keep in mind that this Bow uses Close-Range Coatings only, so you will need to play a bit more aggressively and stay closer to your target than with Power Coatings.

Head | Gore Helm β | Tenderizer Jewel II |
Chest | Arkvulcan Mail β | Tenderizer Jewel III Phoenix Jewel II |

Waist | Gore Coil β | Challenger Jewel III Phoenix Jewel II |
Legs | Gore Greaves β | Counterattack III Adapt Jewel I Physique Jewel I |
Talisman | Chain Charm II | N/A |
The Artian Bow (Angelbein) is your BiS (best-in-slot) option, but if you are not comfortable playing with Close-Range Coatings, you can stick with Verzweiflung and focus on raw Dragon damage instead. The three level 3 decoration slots on the Artian Bow let you easily max out Affinity and Critical Damage. The third slot is flexible; you can either go for a Critical Element jewel to boost elemental crits or slot in a specific elemental damage jewel (like Blaze Jewel if your bow rolled with Fire).
This gear setup builds heavily around elemental damage scaling, combining the Frenzy mechanics from the Gore set with Coalescence and Antivirus, both maxed through your decorations. A few extra points into Burst and Agitator help round out your damage. Do not forget to max out Weakness Exploit, since the Bow benefits a lot from critting weak spots, and keep Constitution high to manage your stamina drain!
You will need Chain Charm II to unlock Burst, and the Corrupted Mantle is also an important piece, because it gives you even more Affinity and damage under specific conditions.
