Guardian Doshaguma Introduction

Guardian Doshaguma is the Guardian version of Doshaguma. Guardians are considered as constructs which are a new type of variants of some existing monsters. In this case it's the construct version of the Doshaguma that are stronger and more powerful with new additional movesets. Guardians are actually constructs and not alive beings, so this is a construct of Doshaguma. Guardians reside in the Ruins of Wyveria locale.

Guardian Doshaguma Combat Guide

Let’s talk about Guardian Doshaguma’s strengths, weaknesses, and how to handle him in battle. If you're aiming for the fastest kill time or just want to optimize your damage output, make sure to bring a fire, ice, thunder, or dragon elemental weapon. He’s equally vulnerable to all status effects including poison, sleep, paralysis, blast, and stun. Everything works well against him, including flash pods, shock traps, and pitfall traps—the only thing that doesn’t work is sonic bombs, which are completely useless.

To be honest, Guardian Doshaguma may look intimidating, but he’s actually very easy. He’s slow, predictable, and offers plenty of openings for hunters to stay on the offensive. There are three main differences between a Guardian Doshaguma and a regular one. First, Guardian Doshagumas don’t travel in packs, and there’s no such thing as an Alpha Guardian Doshaguma either. He’s treated as a solo monster that roams on his own and fights whatever crosses his path. Second, you can only encounter Guardian Doshaguma in Wyveria and nowhere else, while the regular version appears in both Windward Plains and the Scarlet Forest.

In terms of combat, he’s slow and his attacks are easy to read. His movepool is small, and most of his attacks are easy to counter, offset, guard, or dodge. One example is when he raises one of his front paws and slams it down, then immediately follows up with the other paw. Each slam causes an explosion upon impact, and while the attack does deal significant damage, it's very well-telegraphed and should be easy to avoid.

He may also charge forward over a decent distance while swinging his head side to side, trying to bite you. This move doesn’t create any explosions and is easy to avoid, counter, or block. There’s a variation of this where he charges and then attempts to bash you with his head, so stay alert for that too.

One of his more visually impressive moves is the uppercut. Guardian Doshaguma slams his body weight into the ground, then follows up after a short delay with a huge uppercut using his left arm, which causes an explosion. Again, this is a very predictable move that you can take advantage of depending on your weapon. He also has a variant where he slams the ground first with one of his arms before following up with the uppercut. He might also stand up on his hind legs and spit all around him, launching projectile blobs from his mouth. Just avoid them and reposition. If you keep bothering him, he might try to shove you back by sliding one of his paws across the ground.

Enraged State

When Guardian Doshaguma enters his enraged state, he becomes more aggressive and starts attacking a little faster and harder. A key move to watch out for is when he rears up on his hind legs and then slams both front paws down at the same time, causing a large explosion. There’s a short delay before this move, so get ready. He can also do a 360-degree spin attack to hit everything around him, but the range on this move isn’t particularly large, so just keep your distance when he starts spinning.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Guardian Doshaguma is a slow, predictable monster whose attacks often have brief delays, giving you plenty of opportunities to strike. He’s on the easier side of the roster, and most elemental weapons are effective against him—as long as you don’t bring a water-based weapon, you’re fine.

If you're using a Long Sword, you should be able to counter most of his attacks for maximum effect. Weapons with offset capabilities will also have an easy time here thanks to the slower pace and clearer timing of his strikes. If you still find yourself struggling, don’t hesitate to use utility items like traps or flash pods. You can also take advantage of any environmental hazards in the area, or use a luring pod to lead him into one. Keep up the dodges, blocks, and counters, and it won’t be long before you send this beast back to his eternal nap.
