Hunter Rank Guide in Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, your progression as a hunter is measured through the Hunter Rank (HR) system, which categorizes your journey into various tiers. As you progress into higher tiers, you will also be able to take on more challenging quests, obtain better gear, and hunt more dangerous monsters.
What is the Hunter Rank in Monster Hunter Wilds?
The hunter Rank in Monster Hunter Wilds is basically your progression system, but instead of leveling directly your character, you progress in your Hunter Ranks instead.
Your Hunter Rank (HR) really represents your progress as a hunter: it is through your HR that you will be showcasing your experience to others, and it is also what will grant you access to new quests, monsters, and equipment.
You begin your hunting journey as a Low Rank Hunter, and through your story progress, you will progress to High Rank. You will have to fight your way through dangerous monsters to continue you progression!
In previous games, there was three different rank caps you could reach: Low Rank, High Rank, and Master Rank. It is currently unknown if this system remains in Wilds as well or not, but we will update you as soon as possible!
Unlocking and Viewing your Hunter Rank
You automatically begin at the lowest Rank when you start on your journey as a Hunter. You will have to first focus on the introduction quests, learn core mechanics, and face your first monsters.
Once you are done will all the tutorial quest, you can advance through the main storyline and completing key quests which will grant you access to Higher Ranks.
You can check your Hunter Rank at any time through the in-game menu:
- Open the Menu: Press the Options/Menu button to access the main menu.
- Go to the Status Screen: Navigate to the Status section to view your current Hunter Rank, progression details, and other character stats.
- Track Your Rank Growth Some quests may be required to "unlock" further HR progress, so keep an eye on special assignments that may cap your current level.
