Best Way to Prevent Monsters From Leaving in Monster Hunter Wilds!

Now that Monster Hunter Wilds has launched its first title update, more and more Hunters are using the various items that are available in the game. You did not necessarily need things like pods or powders until now. However, with Zoh Shia and Tempered Mizutsune you definitely should learn how to use them!

While there are a lot of items, one lesser known would be the Luring Pod. Here is an unknown way to use those! This will help to prevent the Monster from running away during a hunt!

The Best Way to Use Your Luring Pods

Reddit user RottenRailing has shared a rather unknown trick about the Luring Pods in Monster Hunter Wilds:

You can indeed use your Luring Pods to keep a monster from running away. A lot of monsters are actually immune to flashes (such as Gore Magala). This means that you can not use those to prevent them from moving. Sometimes, it can be quite annoying when the monster decides to flee, so how do you stop it?

The best way is to use a Luring Pod. You will aggro the monster, and he will stay where you are as long as he has aggro on you. The downside of this is that you will get aggro. The monster will specifically start chasing after you. We advise you do this if you know you are good at evading or blocking his attacks and can tank a few hits.

A good way to counter this is also to pair the Luring Pods with environmental or hunter traps in order to down the monster and deal extra damage.

If you start being in trouble, use your Ghillie Mantle. However, this will break the aggro, and the monster will most likely flee right after.

You do have to watch your timing when using the Luring Pods. There is only a small window when the Monster starts to run away, where it will work. Passed that window, if he is considered to have already left the area, it will not work anymore. It does work better when he is limping away, as this takes him more time, so the window is larger.

You can pre-equip the pods in order to have them ready as soon as you see the monster starts to flee. You also have to remember that, as soon as the pod wears off, chances are they will still flee right after, especially if they are close to dying. Again, pairing that with traps can do the trick.

This can save you a bit of time, as having to run after the monster makes you lose quite a few seconds.
