In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can find various merchants and other NPCs you can interact with. Most of them are usually located either in villages or at the Base Camps. However, one of them is a bit hidden if you do not pay attention. This is Santiago and his Support Ship!
What is the Support Ship?
The Support Ship is a roaming merchant ship that docks at your base camp, offering rare items, materials, and potential special deals. His job is to deliver various supplies to the Base Camp, and make sure Hunters have everything they need! He will offer you a variety of goods that you can purchase with Guild Points. You can also request from him to bring back specific types of items if you are looking for something specific.
How to Unlock the Support Ship
The Support Ship will only unlock after you completed the main story quest Chapter 3-5 Monster Hunter. Right after the whole mission is over, you should be greeted at the Base Camp by the Support Ship. We recommend you do not ignore him, as he can come back with quite some nice items!
When and Where Does the Support Ship Arrive
The Support Ship is not constantly available. Lore wise, it just a supplier that comes and goes. He will only stop at the Windward Plains Base Camp. You will notice when the ship is docked, when on your World Map you can see the following little icon or sticker on top of Windward Plains:
You will get in-game chat messages saying “The Support Ship has arrived” or “The Support Ship will depart soon” to let you know when he is here or close to leave.
Once he leaves, it takes around 3 days of in-game time for him to come back. You can rest at your camp if you really want to pass time faster, but it can cost quite a lot, and you will actually need your points to buy stuff from him.
Requested Goods from the Support Ship
The Support Ship is not like the other vendors. As mentioned before, Santiago only takes Guild Points. After the first visit, before he leaves, you can request him to bring back a specific set of items. For example, if you want any materials required for potions and other consumables, you can choose “Medicinal Items only”. If you want Gear, you can pick “Equipment Material”. This will force him to focus on those, and if you are looking for anything in particular, he will have more chances to bring it back.
What Can You Get from the Support Ship

- Steel, Silver, and Golden Eggs

The rarest things you can obtain from him are the Golden Eggs and the Commission Tickets!
Golden Eggs are very useful to trade against Zenny. For example, if you want to reach the Zenny achievement, you will need a ton, so this can be a good way to farm those.
The commission Tickets will unlock the Commission Alpha Armor set and a few weapons!
The best strategy is to always pick the Misc items as Requested Goods. This allows you to buy all the weapons, and then Santiago will have fewer items to present, and more chances for Eggs or Tickets.
