Monster Hunter Wilds Brings Back Blangonga – And It Looks Brutal!

Capcom has recently, officially confirmed that Blangonga will return in Monster Hunter Wilds, and if you are a fan of the series, you know exactly what that means: brutal ice attacks, relentless aggression, and non-stop chaos!

Revealed in a new Japanese TV commercial, “Unstoppable Hunting Frenzy,” the footage gives a first look at Blangonga’s signature attacks and the kind of fight we will be up against. As the Snow Lion, Blangonga is known for its wild movements, powerful shockwaves, and icy breath that can freeze you in place.

On top of that, Monster Hunter Wilds also introduces dynamic environments and deeper combat mechanics, which means that taking down this beast will not be easy. You will need to make full use of the game’s new abilities, mechanics, gear, and strategies if you want to survive the hunt!

A Tougher Fight Than Before

Blangonga was already a fast and unpredictable monster, but Monster Hunter Wilds is making the fight even more intense. New environmental mechanics will play a big role in hunts, with changing weather, shifting terrain, and visibility effects adding extra challenges. If a sudden snowstorm or thick fog rolls in during the fight, staying on top of Blangonga’s erratic movements will be even harder.

On the bright side, hunters have new tools to keep up with its speed. The Seikret mount makes repositioning easier, letting you chase down the monster or avoid its massive leaps without wasting stamina. Focus Mode also helps land precise shots, which could be the key to breaking its defenses.

Blangonga’s First Mainline Appearance in Over a Decade

The return of Blangonga is especially exciting because this is its first appearance in a mainline Monster Hunter game in over 10 years. The last time it showed up in the main series was Monster Hunter 4 (2013 JP / 2015 WW). It also made brief appearances in spin-offs like Monster Hunter Online and Monster Hunter Explore, but those games have since shut down, making Monster Hunter Wilds the first time in over a decade that hunters will be able to face this fanged beast in a new mainline title.

And while past Monster Hunter games have featured plenty of other powerful fanged beasts, few have matched the sheer speed, aggression, and chaos that Blangonga brings to the battlefield!

So, are you ready to take on the Snow Lion once again?
