Capcom just issued an official warning for Monster Hunter Wilds players: Cheat in arena rankings, and you might be suspended or lose access to rewards.
According to their latest announcement, players who use external tools or cheat in quests that rank players by clear time may face account suspension. This applies specifically to the upcoming arena-style content, where players compete for the fastest completion times.
And it is not just solo cheaters at risk. If you are in a multiplayer session and one of your party members is confirmed to have cheated, your entire group can be penalized. Capcom says all players in that session may be removed from the rankings for that quest and lose the right to claim rewards.
“All party members will be judged to have committed an illegal time,” the post warns.
Because of this, players are strongly advised to be careful when joining public multiplayer lobbies. Suspicious behavior could cost you your spot on the leaderboard or even get you disqualified from the reward pool altogether. Capcom also encourages players to report suspicious behavior using the in-game Hunter Profile screen.
Thankfully, Capcom also confirmed that rewards can still be earned by playing solo or with a support hunter, giving honest players an alternative path to grind out timed quests.
What About the Rewards?
The announcement also mentions that the pendants used as ranking rewards may become available separately at a later date. So, even if you miss out now, you might still be able to obtain them in the future.
