Skip Death Animations in MH Wilds with This Simple Trick

A recent Reddit thread has triggered a fun discovery moment for many players: You can skip monster death animations in Monster Hunter Wilds just by tapping the “End Mission” button.

Not the actual end quest confirmation, just a light tap during the monster’s death cinematic. Doing this instantly cuts the slow camera pan and lets you start carving or moving right away.

This trick is not actually new. Long-time fans quickly pointed out that it has been in the series since at least Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on PSP, but many Wilds players had no idea, even those with hundreds of hours logged.

So How Does It Work?

  • On PS5: Tap the Touchpad
  • On PC/Xbox: Press Y or Select (button may vary by config)
  • Do not hold the button, or you might end the mission early
  • It works after the monster dies, right as the cinematic begins

This small feature is especially helpful on larger monsters or in multiplayer, where time is short and carves are precious!

Many players below the Reddit post also suggested that Capcom should make the feature more obvious or at least offer a toggle for automatic skips.
