Monster Hunter Wilds hides some unique armor sets behind unique challenges and hidden objectives. Those secret armors are not visible when you visit Gemma, unless you specifically found the items required to craft them. They are usually not listed in armor lists, as they do not necessarily come from defeating Monsters and getting monster parts. Some will require specific vendors, or extremely rare materials.
In this guide, we will walk you through all 14 secret armor sets and how to unlock them.
It is important to note that you have to be in High Rank already, in order to be able to get all of those. They will not appear during your time in Low Rank.
Secret Village Armors
The first 4 secret armor you can obtain come from each village. In order to get those 4 sets, you will have to trade for very specific items with the villagers. Now don’t be scared, you do not have to go back and forth between all the villages each time you want to visit a trader. You can simply go find Nata, who is near your tent in each Base Camp, he is the intermediary between you and the villages.

The items the villagers sell vary each day. You can rest at the Camp to pass the time to another day, however this will cost you 300 Guild Points each time, which is not always ideal. But you can always visit Nata each time you go to a base camp. Simply interact with Nata, pick the Item Trade option, and select the vendor you need:

Kunafa Armor Set
The first armor you can get is the Kunafa Alpha Armor Set. In order to unlock this armor, you need to trade Dalthydon Wool with Kilama or Gawdygog. Once you obtained one Dalthydon Wool, the full set will appear in the crafting list when you visit Gemma.
Kilama will trade it for some Windward Aloe, and Gawdygog for Ancient Wyvern Coins. For Windward Aloe, you can ask the Kunafa Collector to find some for you. For Ancient Wyvern Coins, there is a nice farming spot in the Scarlet Forest Area 8 where you can catch some.
This set has the Palico Rally skill, which increases the Attack and Defense of your Palico.
Azuz Armor Set
The Azuz Alpha Armor Set can be unlocked by trading Azuz Tanned Leather with Dogard, Yabran, and Gawdygog.
Dogard will trade it against Fine Antimite Ore, Yabran for Wylk Gems, and Gawdygog for Ancient Wyvern Coins again.
The collector from Azuz can bring back the Antimite Ores, and the Wylk can be farmed in the Ruins of Wyveria.
This set has the skills Maximum Might and Heroics.
Suja Armor Set
In order to unlock the Suja Alpha Armor Set you need to get Suja Textiles by trading with Sekka and Gawdygog.
As always, Gawdygog only wants Ancient Wyvern Coins, but Sekka trades against Dragonscale Vase. You can find many of these on Ancient Relics in the cliffs of the Ruins of Wyveria. The collector from Suja, Apar, can also bring you back the vases if you ask him to.
There is only one Waist piece for this set, but it is very good-looking. The piece will give you Divine Blessing Level 3, which can be very useful.
Sild Armor Set
For the Sild Alpha Armor Set you will need to trade for Sild Cotton from Ren or, you guessed it most likely, Gawdygog the Wudwud who wants Ancient Wyvern Coins!
Ren will exchange it against Mature Wyveria Lanterns, Genesis Opal or Fossilized Fire Opal. The collector from Sild village, Rysher, can bring back Lanterns.
This set grants you Wide-Range Level 4, which is essential for the Mushroomancer build.

Ancient Wyvern Coins Farming Trick
As you probably noticed, Gawdygog can rotate ALL the items you need to unlock each of the sets. However, he wants 10 Ancient Wyvern Coins PER item, which can be a lot. So here are some nice farming spots where you can collect those coins:
- Windward Plains, Area 14: head towards the nearby water spot, you should find a Curioshell Crab hanging around that usually carries a coin
- Scarlet Forest, Area 8, 12, 6: Curioshell crabs can also spawn near the camps there
