Palico Overview and Palico Information in Monster Hunter Wilds

A Palico is a hunter's loyal companion throughout the game, providing invaluable support in battle as well as the ability to gather items. These feline allies main goal is to use a variety of Support moves, each with unique effects to aid you in combat whilst also setting traps and healing. In Monster Hunter Wilds, your furry companion will also now communicate in the same language as your hunter!

Upon entering the game, you'll have the opportunity to customise your Palico with a variety of unique features. Below are the different customisation options available:

Additionally you can also change the base, accent, iris and marking colour of your Palico on the next section.

Once you have created a design for your Palico you can then confirm the design and launch the game. You then later have the option of editing Palico features should you choose to do so by accessing the main menu once again.

Your Palico will automatically join you as soon as you embark on a quest, ready to assist you in combat whilst providing valuable support throughout your adventures.

You can also chose to not deploy your Palico if you choose not to.

Each piece of equipment a Palico wields comes with its own unique effects, influencing both its combat behaviour against monsters and the ways it supports the hunter. A Palicoes equipment also acts similarly to that of a hunter.

A Palico's equipment is made up of three distinct components, each crafted from different materials. These components include:

• Palico Head
• Palico Gear
• Palico Weapon

Palico support Skills are specialised actions performed during combat, each designed to provide a unique effect. These skills can range from offensive strikes and defensive manoeuvrers to healing and buffing abilities, all aimed at assisting the hunter and enhancing their overall effectiveness in battle.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, Palicoes level up by accompanying you on expeditions and hunts, gaining experience along the way. As they grow stronger, they unlock new skills and enhance their existing abilities, making them even more effective in battle. Your Palico can level up to level 15 during LR and HR and once you reach hunter rank level 40 you will then be able to increase your Palico level cap to level 30.

The Palico Status Menu, found under Base Camp Menu > Change Palico Equipment, displays a detailed breakdown of your Palico's stats. Here, you can view key attributes such as Level, Attack Status, Defense Status, and the specific components within each of these.

The attack and defense status provide essential details about a Palico's combat capabilities. The attack status highlights the Palico's combat style, whether Melee or Ranged, along with its corresponding value. It also details the attack type, including damage type, elemental properties, and Affinity.

The defense status showcases the Palico’s resistance to various elemental attacks. These attributes are influenced by the Palico's equipped gear, including Head Gear and Body Gear, which can impact both offensive and defensive performance.

These elemental resistances include:

• Dragon Res
