Palico Overview and Palico Information in Monster Hunter Wilds
A Palico is a customisable feline companion that accompanies hunters on their adventures, providing assistance in battles and exploration.
A Palico is a hunter's loyal companion throughout the game, providing invaluable
support in battle as well as the ability to gather items.
These feline allies main goal is to use a
variety of Support moves, each with unique effects to aid you in combat whilst
also setting traps and healing. In Monster Hunter Wilds, your furry
companion will also now communicate in the same language as your hunter!

You can also chose to not deploy your Palico if you choose not to.
Palico Equipment Type
Each piece of equipment a Palico wields comes with its own unique effects,
influencing both its combat behaviour against monsters and the ways it
supports the hunter. A Palicoes equipment also acts similarly to that of a hunter.
A Palico's equipment is made up of three distinct components, each crafted from different materials. These components include:
- Palico Head
- Palico Gear
- Palico Weapon
Palico Support Moves
Palico support Skills are specialised actions performed during combat, each designed to provide a unique effect. These skills can range from offensive strikes and defensive manoeuvrers to healing and buffing abilities, all aimed at assisting the hunter and enhancing their overall effectiveness in battle.

The Palico Status Menu, found under Base Camp Menu > Change Palico Equipment, displays a detailed breakdown of your Palico's stats. Here, you can view key attributes such as Level, Attack Status, Defense Status, and the specific components within each of these.
Palico Level
The exact leveling system for Palicoes in Monster Hunter Wilds remains uncertain at this time. However, we can speculate that it may work as follows:
To level up your Palico, you must bring them along on battles and adventures, where they will gain experience and progressively increase in level.
Attack Status
The attack status displays several key attributes. One of these is the Palicoes combat style. For example Melee or Ranged, along with its corresponding value. Additionally, it provides details on the attack type, such as damage type, elemental properties, and Affinity.
Defense Status
The defense status shows different types of resistance the Palico has to elements as well as its defense stats. These elements include:
- Fire Res
- Water Res
- Thunder Res
- Ice Res
- Dragon Res
Each of these key components are effected by the Palicoes Equipment, Head Gear and Body Gear that is equipped on the Palico at that time.
