No matter if you need to cross huge landscapes, manage your gear mid-hunt, or even engage in combat, your Seikret is always there to support you. This guide will break down everything you need to know, from obtaining your Seikret to mastering its various abilities.
What is the Seikret in Monster Hunter Wilds?
The Seikret is a swift, dinosaur-like creature with feathers that serves as your mount in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, it is also more than just a way to get around: the Seikret offers unique features that make your hunting experience smoother, including auto-navigation, weapon swapping, mounted combat, and even storage.
Think of it as a trusty sidekick that adapts to you and helps you stay prepared for any situation. They exclusively work with Hunters, helping you run over various terrains, jump, glide, and use their smell to guide you automatically to your destination.
Seikrets will help you in combat as well, allowing you to use slingers or ranged weapons when riding it at the same time. Your secondary weapon will be stored in the holster, allowing you to switch when mounted. You Seikret also has another bag that will store all your quest items.

Seikret Mount and Dismounting Mechanics
The controls for the Seikret are rather straightforward:
- Mounting: Get close to your Seikret and press the proper button to mount ( on Controller and on Keyboards, if you did not change the original controls)
- Dismounting: There are two different ways to Dismount:
- Normal Dismount: Press the proper button again ( for PS5 controler, for XBOX controller, and for Keyboards)
- Dismount Attack: Press the combination of buttons to perform a specific dismount attack. This can give you an opening to mount the target!
Seikret Navigation and Auto-Move Feature

One of the most important features of the Seikret is its Auto-Move capacity. When activated, the Seikret will automatically navigate to your selected quest objective or map marker. You will not have to worry about the terrain either, as the Seikret will handle any obstacles and terrain variations. This function is particularly beneficial when you have to go through complex environments or when you need to focus on other tasks, such as inventory management, gear, or figuring out a strategy for the upcoming encounter.
Combat Support and Weapon Management
The Seikret also allows you to fight at the same time, making travelling less boring! Two different things are possible regarding combat and weapons when you are mounted:
- Weapon Swapping: You can store a secondary weapon on your Seikret and swap mid-hunt. This allows you to adapt to different monster weaknesses or switch between playstyles on the go.
- Mounted Combat: While mounted, you can attack using your sling or ranged weapons such as Bows.
Storage Ability
The Seikret also has multiple storage possibilities while you are hunting! As mentioned before, you can store your secondary weapon in your Seikrets' Holster, while quest items will store themselves in the other bag. This allows you to wear two different weapons, making it possible for you to switch according to the enemy or situation you face.
Tips and Tricks
In order to maximize your Seikret's potential, we have gathered a few tips and tricks for you in this guide:
- Use Auto-Move to Multitask: While your Seikret guides you to your next objective, use the time to check your inventory, plan your route, or sharpen your weapon.

- Blend in with the Environment: Customize your Seikret’s appearance to match different biomes for potential camouflage advantages.
