Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update 1
The Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update released on April 4, 2025, and came with various new content. Here is an overview of all the new and updated features, as well as available related guides!
Title Update Release Time
The update was released globally between April 3 and April 4, depending on your region:
- April 3, 8pm PDT - West Coast, North America
- April 3, 11pm EDT - East Coast, North America
- April 4, 4am BST - United Kingdoms
- April 4, 5am CEST - Western Europe/Paris/Berlin
- April 4, 12pm JST - Japan
Make sure you update your game if you want to have access to the new content! The update is free for all players on all platforms.
What Is New With the First Free Title Update in Monster Hunter Wilds??
This first update includes various new features and challenges, such as new monsters, event quests, arena quest, new gear, and much more! It also comes with a set of adjustments and modifications to existing content.
New Monster: Mizutsune
Mizutsune returns in Monster Hunter Wilds! This elegant, bubble-shooting Leviathan is now available as a hunt.
To unlock Mizutsune, reach Hunter Rank 21+ and speak with Kanya in the Scarlet Forest.
Hunting Mizutsune will also unlock new gear for your Hunter and Palico!

Zoh Shia – Now a Repeatable Hunt

The final boss of the main story of Monster Hunter Wilds is making a return as a repeatable hunt. This means that you will be able to defeat the monster more than once and obtain the materials needed to craft the new armor set for your Hunter and Palico!
To unlock Zoh Shia hunts, you have to:
- Finish the Main Story
- Reach Hunter Rank 21
- Complete the quest "Zoh Shia appeared" in the Ruins of Wyveria
Once these steps are completed, Zoh Shia will then appear during Wyvern's Wakening in the Ruins of Wyveria. Defeating this monster will earn you new materials needed for powerful high-rank armor and weapons for your Hunter and Palico.

New Event Quest – Arch-Tempered Rey Dau
Arch-Tempered Rey Dau arrives as the first Arch-Tempered monster via limited-time Event Quest.
Event Period:
- April 29 – May 20 (PDT)
- April 30 – May 21 (BST)
Arch-Tempered monsters are tougher versions of tempered variants, with more health and damage. Defeating Rey Dau will reward new gear for both your Hunter and Palico.

The Grand Hub – New Gathering Area

One of the biggest additions with this update is the new gathering place: The Grand Hub. This zone will be your main hub, where you can regroup with other hunters, enjoy various festivities, and have easier access to plenty of features, old and new!
In order to access the Grand Hub, you need to reach Hunter Rank 16 or above, and talk to Tetsuzan in the upper area of Suja.
Features inside the Grand Hub include:
- Squad Info Counter
- Arena Quest Counter
- Barrel Bowling mini-game
- The Diva (nighttime singing performances)
- Expedition Record Board
- Seasonal Events and Decorations
- Special meals at the canteen

Arena and Challenge Quests
Arena mode is back! Compete for fast clears with preset gear (2-player limit) and earn rewards based on completion time. Your scores are posted at the Grand Hub's record board.

Challenge Quests are time-limited event versions of Arena quests. They come in two types:
- Normal Challenge Quests: 2-player limit with preset gear
- Free Challenge Quests: Up to 4 players with your own gear

Seasonal Events – Festival of Accord: Blossomdance

The first tile update also comes with the new seasonal events! For each new major season, the Grand Hub will hold festivities themed around that specific season.
This means that the Hub will be decorated to fit the season as well, and even the meals will change accordingly. Each seasonal event will also bring its set of unique equipment, gestures, camp decorations, and much more!
The first event, Festival of Accord – Blossomdance, runs from April 23 to May 6, 2025.
During this time, the Grand Hub will be decorated for Spring and offers limited-time content such as:
- Sakura-themed decorations
- Seasonal mini-games
- Blossomdance-themed gear
- Asian-inspired meals (e.g., sushi)
- Unique gestures and camp cosmetics

- Alma Outfits: You can now change Alma’s outfit and glasses. One new outfit is available for free.
- Gesture Set: Classic Monster Hunter gestures are available as a free download.

The next title update is planned for May and will include:
