Armoring Leveling Guide in New World: Aeternum (Levels 1 to 250)
Armoring is a fairly flexible crafting skill to level, depending on what materials you prefer farming or what is most cost-effective on your server.
Below is a list of recommended items to craft at certain level ranges in order to be most cost-effective with your armoring leveling strategy. To learn more about the specific ingredients for each craft, click on the item and you'll be able to see all additional details.
Please note: Some of these items will not be easy to sell. In some cases, it makes the most sense to craft these in bulk, then mass salvage them in order to regain some resources. Keep this in mind as you utilize the strategies below.
Additionally, whenever you get your hands on armoring fragments, be sure to salvage them at the Outfitting Station in exchange for Armoring experience. You'll be surprised to see that you can gain a lot of experience simply through these armoring fragments!
- Levels 0-50 — As you start out your armoring leveling adventure, it is best to produce a handful of Linen Dresses, where you will only need to use a combination of Linen, Coarse Leather, and Iron Ingots. You could also craft Linen Shirts if you want, as they provide the same amount of experience, and require the exact same amount and type of resources. It's best practice to salvage these after crafting them to regain some additional materials to continue crafting with. You will need to craft approximately 25 of these to reach level 50.
- Levels 50-100 — For the next 50 levels, you're going to want to start crafting Sateen Gloves. These are generally pretty easy to craft, as all you need is a large quantity of Sateen, Coarse Leather, and Iron Ingots. It's best practice to salvage these after crafting them to regain some additional materials to continue crafting with. You will need to craft approximately 288 of these to reach level 100.
- Levels 100-110 — To be most effective in leveling, it's best to focus on only crafting Silk Gloves for the next 10 levels (in order to unlock the ability to craft the next best item for leveling). It's best practice to salvage these after crafting them to regain some additional materials to continue crafting with. You will need to craft approximately 44 of these to reach level 110.
- Levels 110-150 — Now that you're level 110, you've unlocked the ability craft "Shipyard" armor. You will now want to focus on crafting your choice of Shipyard Watch Gloves or Shipyard Watch Shoes. These require the typical ingredients, other than a new one that will require a new way to gather mass quantites of - and that's Jade Collar. Jade Collars can be dropped from mobs in the Dynasty Shipyard Expedition, or purchased directly from the Trading Post. You will need to craft approximately 172 of these to reach level 150.
- Levels 150-160 — Next up, you will want to start crafting some Infused Leather Gloves. The materials to craft these are pretty straight forward, as it's the typical mix of Infused Leather, Linen, and Iron Ingots. It's best practice to salvage these after crafting them to regain some additional materials to continue crafting with. You will need to craft approximately 77 of these to reach level 160.
- Levels 160-205 — This next portion is a bit boring, yet effective. You will want to mass-produce either Guardian Plate Gauntlets or Guardian Spearmarshall Boots. Similarly to the portion of leveling that required Jade Collars, this one will require a resource that's similar to that, known as Spectral Dust, which can be found by mobs within the Lazarus Instrumentality Expedition, or purchased directly from the Trading Post. You will need to craft approximately 344 of these to reach level 205.
- Levels 205-250 — You're almost there! This is the last stretch, which requires you to craft your choice of Spinweave Gloves or Dark Leather Gloves, depending on whether or not Spinweave Cloth or Dark Leather is more expensive on your server. Depending on how healthy your server is, you may actually find some success in posting these crafted gloves on the Trading Post for a small profit. If you find yourself crafting a handful of these with bad perks, consider salvaging them to regain some crafting materials to support your armor leveling adventure even further. You will need to craft approximately 394 of these to reach level 250.
- Levels 250+ — You made it! You're now max level in the armoring trade skill. The fun doesn't stop here though - you can continue crafting armor and certain consumables to gain "Apptitude Levels", which grants you with unique rewards, such as the Package of Specialized Armoring Materials. At this point, you can start focusing on crafting items that are most sought-after to generate more gold. More info on some of these items can be found below.
How to Make Gold with Armoring
Depending on the server you're on, there are certain items that hold a large value. Below is a list of items that we recommend you consider implementing within your leveling strategy in order to potentially "break-even" as you craft, as they tend to be easily sold to other players within the Trading Post. Again - this is dependent on server. The list below showcases some of the most sought-after items that you can craft utilizing your armoring trade skill.
- Mythril and Gorgonite Armor — When you're max level in the armoring trade skill, you'll have the ability to craft max gearscore items, which are the most sought-after armor in the game. Depending on how "lucky" you get when crafting, you will have a chance at rolling great perks on high gear score armor, making them extremely valuable. It is highly recommened to post these within the "Trade" chat in-game, and comparing it to other items that may currently be posted on the Trading Post to gain a better idea of the approximate value of your crafted items.
- Bags — One of the most important aspects of this game for every player is their inventory space. If you don't have high inventory, it could get very annoying very quickly when you're out on an adventure and encumbered due to the fact of not having enough inventory space. With this in mind, there is a HUGE value for bags in this game, which you'll be able to craft with the armoring trade skill. When crafting bags, be sure to use the Sliver of Adderstone crafting mod to lock-in the Extra Pockets. which makes your crafted bags hold more weight (the most sought-after perks for bags). Crafting bags are a great way to make gold in New World: Aeternum, especially for young server.
- Powerful Oakflesh Balm — At level 170 armoring, you will be able to craft Powerful Oakflesh Balm, which is a sought-after end-game consumable that will increase the absorption of physical damage types by 35% for 20 seconds, making it useful (especially for Tanks). By crafting these in bulk, you'll be able to quickly sell them in the Trading Post for a proft.
- Armor Matrix — At level 250 armoring, you will be able to craft a Armor Matrix. This matrix is used when altering the final perk for named armor, or even artifact armor, making it an extremely helpful perk for players trying to max-out their builds.
