General Information

Welcome to our Perks page for Fire Staff. Here, we give you an overview of how strong each perk is in each setting. Then, we present Jewelry perks and explain how strong and why each of them is.

1.

Perk Tierlists

All the perks below are usable in any Fire Staff build. While there are many other perks in the game, these are the perks that are within the scope of having value when using a Fire Staff and properly gearing your build.

2.

Fire Staff Perks

The perks within this section include general weapon perks and Fire Staff specific perks that are in the current META.

2.1.

S-Tier

  • Flame Attunement Flame Attunement — This adds additional fire damage to light and heavy attacks, as well as, every ability on the Fire Staff. This will even work with Flamethrower Flamethrower.
  • Vicious Vicious — If you have critical hit chance coming from somewhere else, like a ring, this will maximize damage potential.
  • Keen Keen — Extra critical hit chance results in more overall damage, and more chances for damage over time effects from your ability critical hits.
  • Empowering Fireball Empowering Fireball — This adds damage to Fireball when enemies are above 50% health. It can be a budget third perk at times.
2.2.

A-Tier

  • Refreshing Pillar of Fire Refreshing Pillar of Fire — Great option for Pillar of Fire Pillar of Fire builds. Not necessary, but definitely adds damage pressure.
  • Keenly Empowered Keenly Empowered — A third perk option for windows of increased damage. It does help that Fire Staff already has passive critical hit chance and damage.
2.3.

B-Tier

  • Enchanted Enchanted — In essence, this is the same as Flame Attunement Flame Attunement, but it only applies to light and heavy attacks. Flame Attunement Flame Attunement also does more damage. This can be used if you are looking for a cheap Fire Staff.
  • Refreshing Move Refreshing Move — This is not needed because of innate cooldown reduction coming from heavy attacks, but it can help a slight amount if rolled as a budget third perk.
  • Empowering Incinerate Empowering Incinerate — While Incinerate Incinerate is not typically used, this perk can be beneficial and is necessary if a player chooses to put it in their build.
2.4.

C-Tier

  • Fortifying Burnout — Fortify is very weak in Season One. This perk is not worth taking over other defensive options.
  • Accelerating Flamethrower Accelerating Flamethrower — While Flamethrower Flamethrower is a very strong ability, this perk is generally a waste of a perk slot since it requires three stacks to activate and does not add much to your speed because you are slowed while using the ability.
  • Shirking Damage Perks — These have minimal value because you will have to dodge and ability to get it to activate. It can be a budget option.
  • Keenly Jagged Keenly Jagged — This can add some damage pressure, but is not optimal.
  • Empowering Meteor Shower Empowering Meteor Shower — When used properly this can provide fantastic damage empowerment that will be great for more burst damage. It does last 10 seconds, but this is a rather long duration and the ability will come back up quickly.
3.

PvP Perks

The perks within this section include general armor perks for builds that are viable in the current PvP META.

3.1.

S-Tier

  • Elemental Aversion Elemental Aversion — Can provide some extra defensiveness due to the split magic damage coming from Muskets and Bows using elemental gems, or from other magic weapon users.
  • Refreshing Refreshing — Top-tier cooldown reduction option so that maximum cooldowns are shorter and abilities come online faster.
3.2.

A-Tier

  • Freedom Freedom — Fantastic survivability option when stacked 3-4 times on armor pieces. Allows for you to get out of stuns, slows, and roots more quickly to save your life.
  • Shirking Heals Shirking Heals
3.3.

B-Tier

  • Shirking Fortification Shirking Fortification — This provides a large amount of fortify and gives free defensiveness to players who are actively dodging. It does not proc often for players who are playing at a distance.
3.4.

C-Tier

These options are somewhat filler perks that can be used on a three perk item so you have more value than a simple two perk item. They are low value perks in this aspect of gameplay and would not be the pick for a Best in Slot item.

4.

PvE Perks

4.1.

S-Tier

  • Refreshing Refreshing — Free cooldown reduction in PvE. This is generally a top pick due to the lackof needing PvP survivability perks.
  • Elemental Aversion Elemental Aversion — High value defensive option because of the rotating elemental types in mutated expeditions.
4.2.

A-Tier

4.3.

B-Tier

  • Physical Aversion Physical Aversion — Has less value than Elemental Aversion Elemental Aversion due to the high amount of magical damage in all expeditions. It can be a viable third perk option.
  • Freedom Freedom — Can be beneficial to reduce CC effects from some enemy types.
4.4.

C-Tier

These options are somewhat filler perks that can be used on a three perk item so you have more value than a simple two perk item. They are low value perks in this aspect of gameplay and would not be the pick for a Best in Slot item.

5.

Jewelry Perks

The perks listed below are combined between amulet, ring, and earring. These are the best options for jewelry as a whole. Keep in mind that some of these perks are only able to go on a specific jewelry slot, for example Keen Awareness Keen Awareness can only go on a ring.

5.1.

S-Tier

  • Hearty Hearty — Essential perk in PvP, but not needed in PvE.
  • Health Health — This is just free health. This is crucial on any amulet for increased survivability.
  • Stamina Recovery Stamina Recovery — Great survivability option in any kit. When you are being dove on by enemies this has the potential to save your life.
  • Fire Damage Fire Damage — This should be used in any and every Fire Staff build.
  • Refreshing Toast Refreshing Toast — Incredible perk to increase self healing and Infused Regeneration Potion Infused Regeneration Potion usage to remove debuffs. This is a "must-have" on earring.
  • Purifying Toast Purifying Toast — Necessary for players in PvP to help with defensiveness and one's ability to play in the frontline. Removing a debuff such as a root can save your life.
5.2.

A-Tier

  • Slash Protection Slash Protection — Can be a great third perk option on amulet to help provide defensiveness against enemies using melee weapons who are trying to dive onto you.
  • Refreshing Refreshing — Can be placed as a third perk on an earring or used as a functional perk on other jewelry pieces.
  • Keen Awareness Keen Awareness — This should replace Mortal Empowerment Mortal Empowerment in PvE.
5.3.

B-Tier

  • Invigorated Punishment Invigorated Punishment — This can be used instead of Mortal Empowerment Mortal Empowerment if you are not able to stack up kills. This will only be effective in PvP combat.
  • Thrust Protection Thrust Protection — One of the best third amulet perks for healers due to high amounts of thrust damage from Bows and Muskets.
  • Divine Divine — Can be a decent third perk option. Increasing healing received could save your life, but often times this amount is not enough and more defensive options have more value.
  • Regenerating Regenerating — Free additional healing over time. This can be a decent third perk option.
5.4.

C-Tier

These options are somewhat filler perks that can be used on a 3 perk item so you have more value than a simple 2 perk item. They are low value perks in this aspect of gameplay and would not be the pick for a Best in Slot item.
