Ice Gauntlet Perks for New World
Welcome to our Perks page for Ice Gauntlet. Here, we give you an overview of how strong each perk is in each setting. Then, we present Jewelry perks and explain how strong and why each of them is.
Perk Tierlists
All the perks below are usable in any Ice Gauntlet build. While there are many other perks in the game, these are the perks that are within the scope of having value when using a Ice Gauntlet and properly gearing your build.
Ice Gauntlet Perks
The perks within this section include general weapon perks and Ice Gauntlet specific perks that are in the current META.
S-Tier
Unending Thaw — This should be located on your weapon, it will result in a large amount of healing reduction to the afflicted target(s).
Deadly Frost — Preferably, have this on an armor piece. It can go on weapon for more cooldown reduction, but that is less effective than
Putrefying Scream because it is not as big of an increase. It is a very important perk nonetheless.
Refreshing Move — This is the essential second perk to synergize with any ability perk on an Ice Gauntlet. This will result in more cooldown reduction on important abilities. This has less value in an
Ice Spikes, but can still be beneficial.
A-Tier
Enchanted — This results in free damage that synergizes with the cooldown reduction aspect of
Refreshing Move. This will most likely be on your Ice Gauntlet since most people decide to use
Crystalline Curse because of it being viable in many builds.
Keen — This can be valueable for increased damage output and is certainly better than other third perk damage options. It shines the most in an
Ice Spikes build and should be almost always used then, but this also a great third perk on Support Mage builds.
B-Tier
Pylon Burst — This is essential in an
Ice Pylon specific build. But this is a niche build and it does not have much use otherwise.
Keenly Empowered — A third perk option for an
Ice Spikes build to optimize burst damage.
Vicious — This can be used for a
Ice Spikes builds.
Keenly Jagged — A perk that acts as a functional third perk option for best in slot. This results in higher damage output and the damage over time effect charages heartrunes more quickly.
- X Chain — While
Chain Void is typically best when using
Runeglass of Abyssal Opal, and
Chain Ice with
Runeglass of Frozen Opal, any type of chain can result in more damage and heartrune generation.
C-Tier
Healing Tomb — This perk can be awkward to actually make use of. The heal does not activate, it is dependent on how you exit your tomb. Due to the already perk heavy nature of Ice Gauntlet builds, this is does not have much value.
Unbroken Winds — If you chose to use
Wind Chill you will most likely already be aware of the low damage output and awkward nature of the ability. Unless you are a very brave individual this perk will not be valuable. If you are going to use the ability, this perk must be taken too. Otherwise, avoid this at all costs.
S-Tier
Resilient — Great for survivability in all PvP environments. Should be stacked on almost every armor piece.
Freedom — Fantastic survivability option when stacked four times on armor pieces. Allows for you to get out of stuns, slows, and roots more quickly to save your life.
Elemental Aversion — Defensive option that can provide value when being hit by ranged attacks.
A-Tier
Refreshing — Top-tier cooldown reduction option so that maximum cooldowns are shorter and abilities come online faster. Used in non-bruiser builds.
B-Tier
Shirking Fortification — Provides a small amount of defensiveness.
C-Tier
These options are somewhat filler perks that can be used on a three perk item so you have more value than a simple two perk item. They are low value perks in this aspect of gameplay and would not be the pick for a Best in Slot item.
PvE Perks
S-Tier
Refreshing — Free cooldown reduction in PvE. This is generally a top pick due to the lackof needing PvP survivability perks.
Elemental Aversion — High value defensive option because of the rotating elemental types in mutated expeditions.
- Ward (Ancient, Angry Earth, Corrupted, Lost) — When playing damage roles in end game PvE content, it is important to have this in your gear so you are able to play with less Constitution and have more defensiveness.
- Bane (Ancient, Angry Earth, Corrupted, Lost) — If you choose to use a Void Gauntlet as a pure DPS build you will be able to do the most damage by choosing to use a Bane perk for each respective enemy type. This will require you to have multiple different weapons depending on the expedition it is used in.
A-Tier
Refreshing Evasion — Free cooldown reduction in PvE. It can be useful, but it is better to have
Refreshing
Shirking Fortification — Provides great defensiveness when threat is focused on you and you are forced to dodge enemies.
B-Tier
Physical Aversion — Has less value than
Elemental Aversion due to the high amount of magical damage in all expeditions. It can be a viable third perk option.
Freedom — Can be beneficial to reduce CC effects from some enemy types.
C-Tier
These options are somewhat filler perks that can be used on a three perk item so you have more value than a simple two perk item. They are low value perks in this aspect of gameplay and would not be the pick for a Best in Slot item.
Invigorated
- Ward (Beast) — Although listed in C-Tier, this should not ever be taken until there is an expedtion with beast damage in it.
Refreshing Ward
Jewelry Perks
The perks listed below are combined between amulet, ring, and earring. These are the best options for jewelry as a whole. Keep in mind that
some of these perks are only able to go on a specific jewelry slot, for example Keen Awareness can only go on a ring.
S-Tier
Health — This is just free health. This is crucial on any amulet for increased survivability.
Stamina Recovery — Great survivability option in any kit. When you are being dove on by enemies this has the potential to save your life.
Invigorated Punishment — Necessary ring perk to increase damage in PvP. This will only be effective in PvP combat.
Keen Awareness — Critical hit chance in an
Ice Spikes build is great for burst damage. But this is also valuable when using an Ice Gauntlet as a support because of Void Gauntlet synergy.
Refreshing Toast — Incredible perk to increase self healing and
Infused Regeneration Potion usage to remove debuffs. This is a "must-have" on earring.
Purifying Toast — Necessary for Void Gauntlet players in PvP to help with defensiveness and one's ability to play in the frontline. Removing a debuff such as a root can save your life.
A-Tier
Slash Protection — Can be a great third perk option on amulet to help provide defensiveness against enemies using melee weapons who are trying to dive onto you.
Refreshing — Can be placed as a third perk on an earring or used as a functional perk on other jewelry pieces.
Void Damage — This should be used instead of
Invigorated Punishment in PvE, but this can be a great option in PvP as well. The only issue is that it only improves damage on your Void Gauntlet instead of both weapons.
Ice Damage — This should be used instead of
Invigorated Punishment in PvE, but this can be a great option in PvP if you are looking for a budget option when using
Ice Spikes.
Hearty — Do not use this in a medium loadout build. It is not necessary unless playing in a light armor loadout. If you are playing in light this must be on your ring and it would be S-Tier.
B-Tier
Mortal Empowerment — This is usable, but not optimal. You need to stay alive to make it useful, which becomes difficult with the way a Void Gauntlet is played. This has no effect in PvE.
Refreshing Evasion
Thrust Protection — This can be a decent third perk option if you are receiving high amounts of thrust damage.
Divine — Can be a decent third perk option. Increasing healing received could save your life, but often times this amount is not enough and more defensive options have more value.
Regenerating — Free additional healing over time. This can be a decent third perk option.
C-Tier
These options are somewhat filler perks that can be used on a three perk item so you have more value than a simple two perk item. They are low value perks in this aspect of gameplay and would not be the pick for a Best in Slot item.
