Life Staff Splash of Light AoE Healing PvP Build for New World
The following is a PvP Splash of Light healing build for Life Staff in New World. It is a niche build that capitalizes on using Splash of Light to heal group members who are a far distance away, or who are out of line of sight. This great for groups who dedicate to backline dive, for healers who are tasked with healing Bows and Muskets, or for anyone who struggles with a targeted healing build. It mixes together the strength of AoE healing, but has some slight burst potential.
Build Overview
The Splash of Light AoE PvP healing build is a very niche setup that is
primarily used by 1-2 two healers in a war. For healers assigned to being able
to provide a small amount of healing to ranged Dexterity players, or healers
who are tasked with healing allies who are very spread out like a specialized
dive team, it is advantageous to use Splash of Light. This ability does
not require line of sight, it has a 100-meter range, and it will give a
significant amount of health back to players in these teams since they
typically play with lower constitution. In all, the build will play similar to
an Area of Effect (AoE) build since this role will be given the duty of healing
main clumps with the occasional Splash to top off their 5-player group.
Life Staff Builds
Splash of Light is a very interesting ability. It has 100m range, but it also does not require line of sight.
The problem is that you are locked into an animation that makes you very vulnerable. It can be an effective option when
you have a group that will be very spread out, or it can be used when playing inside of a Fort and it is easy to lose
track of group members.
Group Only
This build can be an effective option for groups that are playing in light armor and who are highly mobile. It can also be an option if you want to dedicate all of your healing to your dedicated group.
AoE Splash
This build can be great for when you are tasked with healing a group, such as a Dex group, that is not playing near you. This allows you to then still contribute fantastic AoE healing to point groups.
Secondaries
Rapier
Rapier is the premiere PvP secondary as it offers defensiveness and mobility with all of its abilities
to help escape enemies and reposition. Riposte will stun targets and completely block and incoming attack.
Evade allows for dodging abilities, a quick invulnerability frame, and a way to get haste and stamina back.
Fleche dashes a far distance to escape and quickly reposition.
Attributes
Group
200 Constitution will be your baseline for all types of healing in both PvP and PvE. It gives you enough defensiveness while still maintaining great healing output. The additional points from higher gearscore sets can go into Focus for increased healing.
AoE
150 Constitution will be your baseline for having optimal healing output. This is great for strict AoE healing and due to the similarities
with this build it makes sense to also play with these attributes to take advantage of Splash of Light and the AoE abilities that are chosen.
With that being said, if you are not comfortable playing this low then you can play 200 Constitution or more. The additional points from higher gearscore
sets can go into Focus for increased healing, or Constitution for more survivability.

Overall with gearing, this is the ideal loadout of perks for a best in slot healing build. With that being said, be sure to refer to the Life Staff Perks guide to have a better understanding of other flexible perk options to fit into your build. You can decide what you are most comfortable with. Ideally, you will want to maximize the number of Enchanted Ward perks on your armor, and have a total of 4 Refreshing perks across your build to maximize your healing output. Additionally, with the Heceta Life Staff artifact, you should be constantly dealing Heavy attacks in clumps to deal additional damage to opponents, while also granting even more buffs to your allies.
Perk Breakpoints
Refreshing is valuable, but do not over value it on a gear piece.
Remember, you can fit it in on jewelry too. You should only have 4 stacks.
Heartrune Usage Tips
Your Heartrune will be used similarly in PvP and PvE scenarios. As such, please refer to the Heartrune section of our Life Staff guide for tips on how it can be used most effectively.
Rotation
The theoretical healing rotation for this build is as follows:
- (If Chosen) Stack
Intensify 1-3 stacks depending on combat
- Dodge to receive
Bend Light
- Cast
Sacred Ground to increase the target's healing received through
Anointed.
- Cast
Beacon to provide additional AoE healing coverage.
- Cast
Splash of Light when party members are missing health or if you need a quick burst heal.
- Light attack as a filler ability when cooldowns are not up, or not needed, this provides healing through
Blissful Touch.
- Repeat
