Stonecutting Trade Skill Guide for New World
Welcome to the ultimate Stonecutting guide for New World: Aeternum, where you'll uncover the art of turning raw stones into powerful gems and refined materials. In this guide, you'll get an in-depth look at everything you need to know about the stonecutting trade skill, including how to get started, leveling strategies, gold-making strategies with this trade skill, and more.
Stonecutting Overview in New World: Aeternum
Stonecutting in New World: Aeternum is a vital and rewarding trrade skill that allows players to refine raw stones into valuable gems and materials, which are essential for crafting certain jewelry, consumables, and more.
Stonecutting is closely associated with the Mining, Furnishing, and Jewelcrafting trade skills, due to the importance of the necessary materials utilized in each.
Stonecutting is performed at a Stonecutting Table, which can be located in every settlement. Each Stonecutting Table will have a tier level that varies from town-to-town. The higher this tier level is, the higher-quality stone and gems you'll be able to craft.
Refining Reagents for Stonecutting
Stonecutting has two refining reagents associated with it - one used for crafting bricks, and one used for cutting gems. When it comes to stone-related materials, you will need to use Obsidian Sandpaper, and when it comes to gem-related activities, you'll have to use Pure Solvent (which has an impact on your Jewelcrafting trade skill).
Leveling Stonecutting in New World: Aeternum
Stonecutting is a fairly simple skill to level up: the most experience you can acquire is from the highest tier materials you can craft, so always craft up for maximum experience.
However, you can take a cheaper route and continue to only craft the lower materials which are extremely useful, and can still sell for plenty of gold, as many players would rather just buy those lower level resources than farm them themselves.
Generally, if you purely want to level your Stonecutting as easily as possible, you will focus on crafting up blocks all the way up to 250, as the materials required are easier to find than gems.
Below is a basic table for stonecutting, which includes the different types of refined resources, the required materials for each, the level requirement, and the amount of experience gained once crafted.
Tuning Orbs
As you can see from the tavel above, you will have the opportunity to craft unique items known as Tuning Orbs. These tuning orbs are required for you to enter certain PvE Trials in New World: Aeternum. These PvE Trials can result in great rewards and experience, as well as a chance at finding certain artifacts.
In some cases, you can actually charge other players to join your group in exchange for you using your tuning orb (as each group only requires one tuning orb for entering the trial).
Yield-Increasing Gear
Each of the refining trade skills have a gear set that increase the total yield you receive while refining by +2% per item. For Stonecutting, it is the Stonecutter's Gloves, Hat, Pants, Shirt and Shoes. You can generally find these as drops in the open world or on the Trading Post, however some pieces can be much rarer than others.
