Welcome to the ultimate PvP guide for New World: Aeternum. Whether you're new to PvP or a seasoned veteran, this guide has something for you. In this guide, we'll cover everything you need to know, including every PvP mode in the game, and why it's worth participating in them!

1.

The Ultimate PvP Guide in New World: Aeternum

When it comes to New World: Aeternum, PvP content can be considered some of the most enjoyable activities in the game. Typically, PvP is considered an endgame activity, however players of all levels can experience it in the open world.

In this guide, we cover everything you need to know about PvP in New World: Aeternum, including why you should participate in PvP, the different PvP activities you can participate in, what you should keep in mind while playing different PvP activities, and more.

2.

PvP Track and Rewards

One of the many reasons why it’s worth participating in PvP activities is because of the many rewards you can receive. By participating in different PvP activities, you will be rewarded PvP experience and Azoth Salt. With PvP experience, you will be able to level up your PvP track, granting you the opportunity to claim powerful rewards (including certain artifacts). Azoth Salt is the currency for your PvP track, requiring you to spend Azoth Salt to receive certain rewards.

3.

Open-World PvP

One of the most common types of PvP activities all players will experience is open-world PvP. Once you reach level 17 and select a faction, you'll unlock the ability to "flag" for PvP. When two players of an opposite faction come across each other in the open-world, they will be able to attack one another.

Don't worry though - if you get defeated while flagged, you do not drop any items or lose anything. The only negative thing that will happen is that you will be forced to respawn at the nearest camp or settlement.

If you defeat another player, you will be rewarded PvP experience, Azoth Salt, and a chance at some legendary items that might drop. The longer a player has survived flagged while not dying, the better the chance you have of getting better rewards when defeating them.

4.

Influence Races

Outside of the typical every day open-world PvP you may encounter, there are also scheduled open-world PvP activities known as Influence Races.

Influence Races are scheduled almost every evening, where it's a battle of the three factions. These will take place within a specific territory, where the primary objective is to hold as many towers and the fort within that specified territory, while also pushing faction PvP missions in that territory to generate influence.

In order to declare a war on a territory, a company must collectively generate a certain amount of influence through an influence race. By completing the faction PvP missions and generating influence, the company can throw their name in the hat within their faction on getting the war declaration.

Multiple companies within the same faction can generate influence in these Influence Races, allowing them to all add their company to the list of potential war declarations. After about 15-minutes or so, one of the companies will be selected, and they will then have an official war with the defending company for that territory the next day.

5.

Wars

Wars are considered the ultimate end-game activity for many New World: Aeternum players. This is one of the largest-form types of PvP content in the game, where it's a 50 vs 50 battle within a single instance.

The goal for the attacking company is to take control of the three points outside of the fort (A, B, and C). Once the attacking company has all three points, they can then charge the gates to the fort. Once one of the gates are down, they will be able to charge into the fort, and contest the main point within the fort. If the attacking company takes control of the point within the fort, they win the war and gain control of the territory.

The goal for the defending company is to prevent the attacking company from claiming the three points, and most importantly, preventing them from getting into the fort. They must hold them off for a full 30-minutes to be victorious and hold on to their territory.

Cutlass Keys PvP Zone

One of the newest areas launched in New World: Aeternum is the updated Cutlass Keys territory that introduced an all-new PvP zone. While entering this new zone in the south-western portion of Cutlass Keys, you will automatically be flagged and kicked out of any group or raid you were a part of. You will then be able to explore an all-new high leveled zone with dangerous mobs, and most importantly, other players that are thirsty for battle.

This new zone introduces a new currency that can be gathered from defeating mobs and gathering chests, which are known as Mystic Doubloons. These Mystic Doubloons can be used within a new NPC shop in Cutlass Keys known as the Well of Fortune. At the Well of Fortune, you will be able to exchange Mystic Doubloons for a range of unique rewards, ranging from unique caches that could lead to 725 gearscore items, a range of consumables, and even some artifacts.

7.

Outpost Rush

Once you reach level 60, you will be able to participate in Outpost Rush matches, which are 20v20 matches that are focused on controlling a range of different forts within a unique instance.

The goal in Outpost Rush is for your team to reach 1,000 points before the other team. In order to gain points, you must hold control of as many of the three forts on the map as possible. The longer you hold these forts, the more points your team gains. Your team also gains 1 point for every kill they get.

Eventually, the "Baron" will spawn during the match, which is strategically a very important aspect to every Outpost Rush match. If your team gets the last hit to defeat the Baron, it freezes the enemy team's score for several minutes, making it a great opportunity for your team to take the upper hand in the match.

At the end of the Outpost Rush match, you will receive a range of valuable rewards, including an Outpost Rush Cache, Azoth Salt, PvP experience, and a Ruby Gypsum (for the first two matches you play each day).

Please note: these Outpost Rush Caches can provide best-in-slot equipment, and potentially even certain artifacts. In other words - it's worth doing these!

8.

3v3 Arenas

Once you reach level 20, you can participate in 3v3 arenas. This is one of the smallest-scaled PvP activities in the game, but also one of the most fun! This will truly test your PvP skills, and it won't be as easy to hide or "stay behind the crowd" like it may be in Outpost Rush matches.

When queuing for 3v3 Arenas, you will be placed randomly on a team of 3 (unless you queue up with a group beforehand), making it a bit unpredictable on what your team composition will be. Based on your team's composition (as well as your enemy's composition), you and your team will need to strategize and defeat your enemies before they defeat you.

The first team to win three rounds will be victorious. The more rounds you and your team win, the better your reward will be. By participating in 3v3 Arenas, you will receive PvP experience, Azoth Salt, and up to two garnet gypsums a day. Additionally, you will receive a unique Arena cache twice a day, which will provide you with a random weapon or armor piece.
