Weaving Trade Skill Guide for New World
Welcome to the ultimate Weaving guide for New World: Aeternum, where you'll master the art of gathering fibers and transforming them into refined cloth, essential for crafting armor, bags, and other valuable items.
Weaving Overview in New World: Aeternum
Weaving in New World: Aeternum is an essential trade skill that allows players to refine raw fibers into valuable cloth, which is critical when crafting useful items like bags, armor, and more. Given the nature of ggathering and refining these materials, this trade skill is closely tied to Harvesting, Engineering and Armoring.
Mastering the Weaving trade skill not only provides you access to crucial crafting materials, but also offers players massive gold-making opportunities by producing extremely sought-after fabrics (which is required when crafting high-end armor).
In this guide, we'll walk you through everything you need to know about Weaving, including how to get started, efficient leveling strategies, how to make gold with this trade skill, and more.
Refining Reagent for Weaving
Wireweave is the required refining reagent for Weaving, and it is needed when trying to craft up your materials. It is highly recommended that you submit buy orders on the Trading Post if you're planning on maxing out this trade skill, as it will allow you to bulk-up on the required wireweave reagents in the most cost-effective way.
Leveling Weaving in New World: Aeternum
Weaving is a fairly simple skill to level up: the most experience you can acquire is from the highest tier materials you can craft, so always craft up for maximum experience. However, you can take a cheaper route and continue to only craft the lower materials which are extremely useful and can still sell for plenty of gold, as many players would rather just buy those lower level resources than farm them themselves.
Below is a table of refined resources you can create with Weaving, which includes the materials needed to craft them, and how much experience each provides.
Refined Resources | Materials Required | Weaving Level | Experience Gained |
---|---|---|---|
Linen | Fibers x4 | 0 | +44 |
Sateen | Linen x4 and Wireweave x1 | 50 | +230 |
Silk | Silk Threads x6, Sateen x2 and Wireweave x1 | 100 | +1,998 |
Infused Silk | Wirefiber x8, Silk x2 and Wireweave x1 | 150 | +10,164 |
Phoenixweave (10 per day) | Infused Silk x5, Scalecloth x2, and Wireweave x1 | 200 | +24,000 |

Prismatic Cloth (10 per day) | Phoenixweave x1, Spinweave Cloth x10, and Wireweave x4 | 250 | +141,750 |
Yield-Increasing Gear
Each of the refining trade skills have a gear set that increase the total yield you receive while refining by +2% per item. For Weaving, it is the Weaver's Gloves, Hat, Pants, Shirt, and Shoes.
You can generally find these as drops or on the Trading Post, however some pieces can be much rarer than others. If you are trying to buy these on the Trading Post, it is recommended to place a buy order (instead of buying it directly) in order to get the best possible price.
Armor | Drop Source |
---|---|
Weaver's Hat | Package of Specialized Weaving Materials or Farley (in Ebonscale Reach) |
Weaver's Shirt | Package of Specialized Weaving Materials or Gnasher (in Ebonscale Reach) |

How to Make Gold with Weaving
There are a range of ways on how you can make gold with the Weaving trade skill. For starters, the high-end cloths that you'll be crafting will be extremely sought-after, and you'll be able to make a direct profit off of these most of the time simply by selling them via the in-game trade chat of Trading Post.
Another method is to utilize your actual high-level Weaving skill as your advantage, and charge other players for you to weave their raw ingredients. If you have all of the necessary Weaving gear, and are max level, you will likely gain more "bonus" crafts, making the Weaving process more valuable.
Additionally, if you haven't used your daily cooldown for the high-end cloths (such as Prismatic Cloth), you can sell your "cooldown" in a way, where a player would provide you with the ingredients necessary to craft 10 Prismatic Cloth, as well as some gold (for you), in exchange for you to craft the cloth, and return the finished product.
