BG3’s Patch 8 Brings 12 Subclasses, Photo Mode & More

Baldurs Gate 3 Astarion

Larian Studios just announced Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3, and it is a big one. The update will launch on Tuesday, April 15, and includes 12—one for each of the game’s core classes—along with a long-requested photo mode, cross-platform multiplayer, and Xbox Series S split-screen support.

This is the final major update for BG3, and it looks like a proper send-off.

If you are planning to head back into Faerûn, now is a great time! Patch 8 looks like it is going to be one of Baldur’s Gate 3’s most exciting updates yet—and a perfect excuse to roll a new character.

And while Larian moves on to new projects, Hasbro has already indicated plans to continue the Baldur’s Gate franchise with other developers. Larian also confirmed that they would not be working on Baldur’s Gate 4 or any expansions, and that Patch 8 would be their final major update for BG3.
