What Is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG with unique real-time mechanics, and immersive battles.
The story is set in a fantasy world inspired by France during the “Belle Epoque“. This was a period that began after the end of the French-Prussian War in 1871 and continued until the start of World War I in 1914. This Era is rarely depicted in video games, making it an original choice.
In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, once a year, the Paintress awakens and paints cursed numbers upon her monolith. Everyone of that age will turn to smoke and fade away. Year by year, that number ticks down and more humans are erased. Soon, she will awaken again, and paint the number “33“. But this time, Expedition 33, those doomed to disappear next, will go on a quest. Their goal: Destroy the Paintress, so she can never paint death again.
Who Is Sciel?
The latest character that was showcased by Sandfall is Sciel: one of the members of Expedition 33. If you did not see it yet, take a look at her exclusive trailer:
Sciel is one of the playable characters. She is a teacher, and seems to have accepted her fate long ago. Haunted by regrets from her past, with a very sweet and social personality, Sciel decided to join the group, and break the cycle of death, once and for all.
