The second official trailer for DOOM: The Dark Ages has just been released 9 hours ago, and it shows us a glimpse into the game’s dark fantasy setting. The new DOOM is going to launch on May 15, 2025, and is a prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal (2020), taking players back to the origins of the Doom Slayer.
In this installment, it looks like we will experience a heavier, more grounded combat system. The Doom Slayer, portrayed as an “iron tank,” is equipped with new melee options and a slow-motion glory kill feature for improved control during combat. On top of that, the game introduces the Shield Saw, allowing for blocking, parrying, and attacking within a single input. You will also be able to wield new weapons like the Skull Crusher, a gun that fires bone fragments at enemies.
Available Platforms
The game will release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Players who purchase the Premium Edition will gain access two days early, starting May 13, 2025.
