Hunt: Showdown‘s next big update is almost upon us! Patch 2.3 goes live on March 26, 2025, and comes with a wide range of rebalances, trait adjustments, bug fixes, and the new seasonal event. Garden of the Witch.
Crytek has recently shared a full breakdown of what to expect, and it is a pretty big one! From gear changes to trait reworks and quality-of-life improvements, this patch is already looking like it is going to be one of the more impactful updates in recent months.
So, let’s go over what is coming.
Update 2.3 – Important Changes at a Glance
- Krag gets a price increase (450 Hunt Dollars) and reduced extra ammo to promote more weapon variety.
- Berthier and Mosin Obrez rebalanced to offer more viable Carbine alternatives.
- Uppercut and Haymaker prices reduced again to better reflect their performance.
- Bear Traps now require three to kill; no more cheap insta-kills.
- Boss and Wild targets now take more melee damage, and melee weapons will spawn more often near Boss lairs.
- Retrieving projectiles (blades, arrows, bolts) now causes proper damage again.
- Vetterli has better ADS fire rate with Iron Eye, while Centennial gets slightly slowed.
- Dark Dynamite Satchels can now be disarmed and picked up again.
- Stamina and Regeneration shots have reduced duration.
- Revive Bolt is being removed completely: Crytek confirmed the rework did not meet expectations and will not be returning.

Trait Changes and Pricing Adjustments
- Lightfoot no longer removes footstep sounds for solo Hunters.
- Surefoot loses crouch speed and now costs 6 points.
- Fast Fingers now works with Martini-Henry IC1 and Maynard Sniper families.
- Bolt Thrower now also affects Bomb Lance and Bomb Launcher.
- Conduit gives double stamina and double Clue progress for solo players.
- Trait pricing changes:
- Surefoot: 6 points (up from 4)
- Greyhound: 2 points (down from 5)
- Determination: 1 point (down from 4)
Other Improvements and Bug Fixes
- Poison effects cleaned up and fixed.
- Hanging chains and traps no longer block attacks.
- Concertina wire should no longer damage through walls or ceilings.
- Weekly Event Challenges will now rotate differently for each player to add more variety.
New Event: Garden of the Witch
Alongside all these balance changes, the team also teased the new seasonal event: Garden of the Witch. Expect eerie vibes, mystical themes, and a new layer of bayou danger.
