Reinhardt is arguably one of the best characters to pair with Symmetra for a couple of reasons. First, Reinhardt's Barrier Field helps Symmetra stay near the frontline and build up Photon Barrier damage. Second, Symmetra can place her Sentry Turrets near Reinhardt's position to protect him from enemy flankers. Third, Symmetra's Teleporter is an amazing tool when used with Reinhardt. It can be used to help Reinhardt quickly move to a high ground position, to teleport a Charge to an unsuspecting location to catch an enemy off guard, and to move Reinhardt behind an enemy team for an easy Earthshatter.

When it comes to playing Reaper, his number one issue is having to survive to get close enough to deal damage. If the enemy team is smart, they will often position themselves in such a way that Reaper will have to expose himself to get to an effective distance for his Hellfire Shotguns to make an impact. However, Symmetra changes all of this. With Symmetra's Teleporter, Reaper can easily reach high ground positions, or teleport next to enemy healers. Additionally, Reaper can begin a use of Death Blossom and use Symmetra's Teleporter to drop behind a team's defenses with little to no effort.

Doomfist is a highly mobile character thanks to his abilities, but Doomfist's damage is also integrally entwined to his abilities, which means he often loses DPS when he uses his abilities to get in a productive position. However, Symmetra's Teleporter lets Doomfist save his abilities to deal damage rather than get into position, which can make for a seemingly overpowered champion when he engages with all of his abilities at his disposal.

Winston is an aggressive pick against Symmetra, but he can truly disrupt her ability to help her team. Winston is a great counter to Symmetra for a number of reasons. First, he can use his Jump Pack to fly past Symmetra's Sentry Turrets, neglecting them entirely. Second, Winston's ability to jump on Symmetra gives her no time to charge up her Photon Projector, which can lead to Symmetra having low damage to defend herself with. Third, Winston can force Symmetra to use her Teleporter to escape from his attack. Anytime Winston can get Symmetra to use her Teleporter defensively, he wins the trade. Fourth, Winston can easily destroy multiple turrets with his Tesla Cannon, with little to fear from their damage output.

Although Doomfist is greatly aided by Symmetra's Teleporter, he is also one of the best heroes to use against her. When Symmetra places a Teleporter in the enemies' field of vision, Doomfist can simply channel his Rocket Punch and aim it at the Teleporter, dealing massive damage to whoever uses the Teleporter first. Additionally, although Symmetra sits with ally tanks, Doomfist's mobility allows him to easily descend on her position and take her out before the enemy team can do much to stop him. Lastly, Symmetra's Photon Barrier does nothing to prevent Doomfist's damage, which means he totally negates its utilization.

Brigitte is arguably one of the better healers to play against Symmetra for the following reasons. First, she can use her Shield Bash to stun an enemy who uses Symmetra's Teleporter, making them an easy target for the rest of her team. Second, Brigitte's Rally helps her team storm through enemy choke points, which means she can easily help her team sustain themselves until they get past a defensive Photon Barrier. Third, Symmetra has to be on the frontlines to deal damage, but Brigitte can easily take her on 1 v 1 thanks to her Barrier Shield.

Although Orisa is similar to Reinhardt, her Protective Barrier, once placed, is stationary. Symmetra can wait until Orisa places her barrier, then use her Teleporter to transport her team to a location behind Orisa's barrier, thus making her defenses meaningless. When Symmetra does this to Reinhardt, he can at least turn his Barrier Field towards the incoming attackers, however, Orisa's barrier is stuck defending nothing. Additionally, Orisa's barrier and its large frame can help Symmetra build up her Photon Projector's damage with ease.

Zenyatta is arguably one of the biggest targets in the Overwatch universe thanks to his low mobility and his ability to change team fights with Transcendence. Thanks to Symmetra's Teleporter, staying alive as Zenyatta has become even more difficult. Symmetra can place her Teleporter near Zenyatta and charge up an Energy Ball to deal massive damage to Zenyatta. After that, she can clean him up with her Photon Projector fairly easily. Zenyatta can kill Symmetra with his Orb of Destruction if she attempts to attack him this way, but her hitbox is tiny, making her a difficult target to strike. If Symmetra does not personally pose a threat to Zenyatta, any of her allies can hitch a ride on her Teleporter to take on Zenyatta one on one before making their exit back to the Teleporter's entrance. Therefore, Symmetra's Teleporter is the real counter to Zenyatta, rather than Symmetra and the rest of her kit.
