TBC Classic Elemental Shaman Phase 2 / Tier 5 Gear and Best in Slot
On this page, you will find the best Tier 5 PvE gear and best in slot items for your Elemental Shaman in TBC Classic Phase 2.
Elemental Shaman Phase 2 / Tier 5 Best in Slot List
While a clear best in slot list is always available in TBC Classic, the items contained might be extremely hard or expensive to get. Thus, we will try to give at least one alternative for most slots in the list, so that you can pick where and how to farm them.
The list will focus on gathering the best stats for Elemental, as described in our guide below:
Other Elemental Shaman Best in Slot Lists
If you are starting out as a freshly-leveled Elemental Shaman, our pre-raid best in slot list is meant to give you an idea of non-raid items you can chase as a solo / pug player in preparation for raids.
Do note that items from Heroic dungeons or that require Primal Nethers (which are obtained from Heroics) can be harder to get than raid items due to their daily lockout. Some Heroic dungeons are also harder than most of Karazhan.
If your character is still progressing through the content of Tier 4 or is ready to take on Tier 6, then you may wish to consult their best in slot lists instead.
TBC Phase 2 / Tier 5 Elemental Shaman Tier Set
Elemental Shaman Tier 5, the Cataclysm Regalia, is obtained from the following bosses:
- Helm — Lady Vashj in Serpentshrine Cavern
- Chest — Kael'thas Sunstrider in Tempest Keep
- Legs — Fathom-Lord Karathress in Serpentshrine Cavern
- Shoulders — Void Reaver in Tempest Keep
- Gloves — Leotheras the Blind in Serpentshrine Cavern
Its set bonuses are:
- 2 pieces — causes your offensive spells to occasionally reduce the cost of your next Lesser Healing Wave by 380. This is mostly irrelevant, but could allow you to off-heal slightly more efficiently.
- 4 pieces — causes your Lightning Bolt critical strikes to occasionally recover 120 of your Mana. This is a minor Mana sustainability benefit, and can sometimes allow you to skip Mana pots for Destruction Potion, instead.
Phase 2 / Tier 5 Best in Slot Table
Leatherworking is still a good profession, especially if you are your group's dedicated drummer, but otherwise Engineering is great for area-of-effect damage from its explosives, Enchanting gives you extra Spell Damage enchants on rings, and Jewelcrafting enables slightly better gems than default ones.
It is still worth it to use Elemental Shaman Tier 4 for the 2-piece set bonus, which causes Wrath of Air Totem to grant an additional 20 Spell Damage. This is a very strong bonus, and in a caster party it is worth keeping it even when Tier 5 gear is available as long as you care more about the raid's damage than your own personal damage.
The Lightning Capacitor deserves a special mention, as it is a very powerful trinket for Elemental Shamans specifically. The trinket procs from spell critical strikes, which include Lightning Overload crits and all of Chain Lightning jumps.
Keep in mind that the trinket's lightning bolt proc will reset its stacks and incur a 2.5-second cooldown on further charge gains. For example, if Elemental Mastery plus Chain Lightning hits three targets, a trinket lightning bolt will proc immediately, but it will also remove all charges from the trinket even if you were already at 2 charges before using it.
