TBC Classic Shadow Priest Pre-Raid Gear

In this guide we will go over the different gear available for Shadow Priests before entering raids. We will offer multiple different pieces as some can be rather expensive or very rare to find. Some slots have multiple "best" items that can change depending on your current gear and Hit Rating needs.

For the most part we will exclude PvP gear choices. While PvP gear can be a very powerful option for some slots, the gear will require many hours of battlegrounds or weeks of arena point farming to obtain while not being a "best" choice. We recommend only investing time into farming a couple of these pieces at most as the lack of fully PvE focused stats can leave you lacking in certain aspects (such as spell hit rating or haste rating).

Annihilator Holo-Gogs is a great helm, being one of the strongest helms available in Phase 5, but requires engineering. Spellstrike Hood is a good option if you don't have engineering.

Pendant of Sunfire is a great neck you can craft, but requires Jewelcrafting to use. Guardian's Pendant of Subjugation is a close second option if you do not have that profession. Shattered Sun Pendant of Acumen is easy to grab when reaching Exalted with Shattered Sun Offensive.

Mantle of Nimble Thought are an extremely solid shoulder choice, but require Tailoring to use. There are two alternative options inside of the new dungeon Magister's Terrace if you do not have the profession.

Cloak of Arcane Alacrity is an excellent cloak we can grab with Badge of Justice. Cloak of the Betrayed is a good alternative if you need hit rating, and Cloak of the Black Void can be crafted easily.

Sunfire Robe and Frozen Shadoweave Robe are both very strong options if you have Tailoring, with Sunfire Robe being your best in slot chest for the rest of the expansion. If you don't have tailoring, aim to get one of your other options.

Sunfire Handwraps are a very strong glove option that can be crafted and traded by a Tailor. Look for one of your other options to fill the gap till you can obtain your crafted gloves.

Loop of Forged Power and Ring of Flowing Life are both new crafted rings introduced in Phase 5. While Ring of Flowing Life is a healing ring, it offers higher damage stats than you can obtain from any other pre-raid DPS rings. Fused Nethergon Band is a great alternative option if you need spell hit rating.

Scryer's Blade of Focus is a great new weapon available to us in Phase 5, having a high amount of spell power. Cudgel of Consecration is a good option if you need spell hit rating. As always, any available PvP weapon remains a solid choice if you are willing to farm them.
