Shattered Sun Offensive Reputation and Rewards Guide
The Shattered Sun Offensive is an Isle of Quel'Danas-based faction in TBC. All of the reputation gained with them is obtained by completing quests on the island or killing monsters inside of the Magister's Terrace 5-man dungeon.
The Shattered Sun Offensive offers various profession patterns and some very powerful pre-raid items.
Overview
The Shattered Sun Offensive is a powerful group of Blood Elves and Draenei located in both Shattrath City and the Isle of Quel'Danas. Gaining reputation with the Shattered Sun Offensive will allow you to purchase unique crafting recipes as well as offer some powerful items that will allow you to quickly gear up alts or fill missing slots on your main.
Earning Reputation
Your reputation with the Shattered Sun Offensive begins at Neutral and improving it is done by completing daily quests which are located on the Isle of Quel'Danas and killing mobs inside of the Magister's Terrace 5-man dungeon.
From Neutral to Revered
Various NPCs located on the Isle of Quel'Danas offer one-time quests that will then turn into daily versions of the same quest, so it is crucial to complete all quests that you find on the Isle of Quel'Danas. These quests will be gated behind the current phase of the Isle which depends on how many of these quests have been completed on your server. As the phase progresses more and more quests and then dailies will unlock. Daily quests will make up the majority of your reputation gains. You can supplement the reputation you gain by doing runs of the Magister's Terrace 5-man dungeon, where Normal difficulty grants reputation until Revered while Heroic difficulty will allow you to gain reputation all the way to Exalted.
From Revered to Exalted
Continue to run Heroic Magister's Terrace daily and complete your daily quests on the Isle of Quel'Danas. The reputation is gated behind these but if you complete your dailies it should not take long to reach Exalted.
Entering Magisters' Terrace
Unlike other Heroic dungeons in The Burning Crusade you will need to complete a quick quest to enter the Heroic version of Magister's Terrace. As a member of the Scryers you can start the questline from Dathris Sunstriker which begins with Duty Calls. If you are a member of the Aldor it will start with Crisis at the Sunwell. Both of these quests will result in you talking to Exarch Larethor who will offer the quest Magisters' Terrace that will have you venture into the Magisters' Terrace to find Tyrith. Once you have found Tyrith he will then offer the quest The Scryer's Scryer that will require you to use the Scrying Orb located on the balcony just past the second boss, Vexallus. Interacting with the Orb will then spawn Kalecgos who will offer you the final quest, Hard to Kill, which will task you with defeating Kael'thas, the final boss of the Magister's Terrace. Finishing this questline will allow you access to the Heroic version of Magisters' Terrace.
Reputation Rewards
Shattered Sun Offensive reputation rewards include some of the most powerful pre-raid items in the game and many unique Jewelcrafting, Enchanting, and Alchemy recipes.
There are two NPCs that sell reputation rewards for the Shattered Sun Offensive, Eldara Dawnrunner sells the majority of them while Shaani also offers many of the Jewelcrafting patterns.
