Elemental Shaman PvP Gear Guide for WotLK Classic

This is the gear we recommend for PvP encounters such as World PvP and Battlegrounds. In PvP you need less Spell Hit from your gear to maximize your odds at hitting enemies as only 4% is needed, so avoid going above this value with your gear.

The list below is meant to provide general pointers of what to use on each slot. Feel free to use any other high Resilience / Stamina and Intellect / Spell Power / Critical Strike / Armor pieces you find, as they will serve you well while climbing through the ranks.

Having a good (~15%) amount of Haste is recommended in order to smooth out your burst rotation and allow you to land Lava Burst, Chain Lightning, and Frost Shock in as close of a time as possible, to minimize enemy reaction time.

Spell Penetration is a noteworthy stat for countering the small amount of resistances awarded by Mark of the Wild, Mage Armor and similar buffs. It is also useful for making Lava Burst hit harder against Paladin teams using Fire Resistance Aura.

It is much less common for enemies to have high Nature resistance, which is fortunate for Elemental, as most of the damage dealt is from Nature Spells. Thus, you will want to have a small amount of penetration, mostly coming from Enchant Cloak - Spell Piercing and Stormy Majestic Zircons used for Blue Socket bonuses on your gear.

Phase 3 introduced epic gems from prospecting Titanium Ore. You can also transmute them with Alchemy or buy them with emblems.

• Red Gem — Durable Ametrine;
• Yellow Gem — Mystic King's Amber and Rigid King's Amber;
• Blue Gem — Stormy Majestic Zircon.

Finally, Insightful Earthsiege Diamond is an excellent Meta Gem that significantly improves your Mana sustain, making it the best Meta Gem for PvP.
