Onyxia's Lair Raid Guide for WotLK Classic

Onyxia's Lair was remade during original Wrath of the Lich King to celebrate World of Warcrafts 5 year anniversary. This updated raid encounter plays out almost exactly the same as the previous level 60 version, not having much changed. The main difference is the attunement being removed, allowing anyone to enter the raid without needing to complete an overly complex quest chain.

Onyxia's Lair is located within the Wyrmbog sub-area in the Dustwallow Marsh zone. The nearest flight point for both Alliance and Horde players is very nearby at Mudsprocket. Upon arriving, look for the cave-like entrance made out of a dragons skull. Here you will find a summoning stone near the cave entrance and the raid instance portal behind a clickable gate.

Onyxia's Lair is a small instance, containing only one main map and one encounter against its primary boss, Onyxia. After a quick walk down a short hallway you'll find yourself face-to-face with Onyxia. To learn more about how to defeat this updated encounter see our strategy guide below:

There are 8 total achievements to obtain in Onyxia's Lair, split evenly between 10- and 25-player modes. These achievements are:

She Deep Breaths More (10 player)	Defeat Onyxia without anyone taking damage from a Deep Breath in 10-player mode.
She Deep Breaths More (25 player)	Defeat Onyxia without anyone taking damage from a Deep Breath in 25-player mode.
Many Whelps! Handle It! (10 player)	Cause 50 Onyxia Whelplings to hatch within 10 seconds of Onyxia's liftoff, and then defeat her in 10-player mode.
Many Whelps! Handle It! (25 player)	Cause 50 Onyxia Whelplings to hatch within 10 seconds of Onyxia's liftoff, and then defeat her in 25-player mode.
