1.

Overview

Masters of Stealth and Treachery, Combat Rogue has received some fun new tools in the Season of Discovery version of Classic World of Warcraft and with those changes comes a key new way to play one of the original classes, in season of Discovery Rogues are now able to tank. New Runes such as Just a Flesh Wound Icon Just a Flesh Wound, Main Gauche Icon Main Gauche and Blade Dance Icon Blade Dance add new and exciting ways to play your rogue and allow for you to tank as many of these abilities allow you to actively mitigate damage and generate massive amounts of threat. Rogues are extremely capable tanks and are likely to only get stronger with more gear available to them.

Rogues are always in demand for smaller format content as their ability to stun and crowd control is almost unmatched so you should have no issue finding groups for both PvE and PvP content. The new found ability to tank will only amplify this need so finding a group as a Rogue tank should become no issue. With the emphasis that is being put on open world content in Season of Discovery, Rogues become even more valuable with their ability to stealth and infiltrate the back lines.

Professions

Professions have always been a big part of Classic WoW but are made even more important in Season of Discovery with the addition of many new recipes.

Engineering provides tons of situationally useful goodies that will help you in combat both in PvP and PvE either to deal more damage or sometimes even a niche defensive cool down to mitigate or even entirely avoid incoming damage or crowd control.

Leatherworking now provides even more great gear with the new recipes found in Season of Discovery. Many of the new Epic crafted items are Bind on Pickup so you will need the respective profession to use the items.
