Season of Discovery Enhancement Shaman DPS Talents and Runes
On this page, you will find out the best PvE talents for your DPS Enhancement Shaman in WoW Classic — Season of Discovery, as well as advised runes.
Enhancement Shaman DPS Talent Build
Ancestral Knowledge has a small, but relevant contribution to the Mana returned by Shamanistic Rage.
Ghost Wolf has good synergy with the Greater Ghost Wolf Rune, reducing the cast time to 1-second which enables its usage in many more situations!
Thundering Strikes and Flurry are great damage increases, and Enhancing Totems is also recommended to make your party support totems as strong as they can be.
With the Static Shock Rune, Improved Lightning Shield becomes a small but noticeable DPS increase, and Stormstrike is an extra attack with great synergy with the offensive casts allowed by Maelstrom Weapon.
The points on the Elemental side improve your Maelstrom Weapon damage potential and lead to Elemental Devastation which further increases your DPS and has synergy with Flurry.
Recommended Rune Engravings
- Gloves — Lava Lash
- Pants — Greater Ghost Wolf (mobility) or Ancestral Guidance (off-healing)
- Chest — Dual Wield Specialization
- Waist — Maelstrom Weapon
- Feet — Spirit of the Alpha
- Head — Mental Dexterity
- Wrist — Rolling Thunder
- Back — Feral Spirit
- Ring — Nature Specialization
- Ring — Axe Specialization (or other depending on your weapons) or Fire Specialization if you already have a source of weapon skill such as Expert Goldminer's Helmet
Lava Lash is a very cheap way to get some extra damage in on a short cooldown. Dual Wield Specialization provides a massive Hit and damage bonus, making it one of the best passive damage increasing Runes in SoD and generally superior to Two-Handed Mastery in the community simulations, even after the Phase 4 buffs to the two-handed playstyle.
With Shamanistic Rage turning baseline in Phase 4, Greater Ghost Wolf is the best mobility option, but if you do not need extra mobility take Ancestral Guidance instead for extra off-healing with minimal DPS cost!
In the waist slot, Maelstrom Weapon is a fantastic DPS option for both single and area damage, and can even allow you to emergency heal if needed!
Spirit of the Alpha is a must-have on tanks, but if all tanks in the group already have it just put it on someone unlikely to pull aggro, as having it up on someone other than yourself will give you a large 5% physical damage buff!
Mental Dexterity and Rolling Thunder Runes are powerful passive effects which will increase your non-physical damage and increase your ability to scale with gear.
Feral Spirit provides a powerful cooldown for both DPS and utility, and Nature Specialization increases your Nature Spell hit chance, which combos well with Maelstrom Weapon. The final ring Rune should be dedicated to +5 skill towards your weapons of choice or Fire Specialization if you already have a racial for them.
