Stats Further Explained
Strength
Strength is our best DPS primary stat, granting Attack power for each point of Strength this will Increase the damage dealt by nearly every ability. While it is important to get as much Strength as possible you will rarely have to choose strength over other stats as primary stats are plentiful on gear.
Attack Power
Attack Power is the stat that causes your abilities and attacks to deal more damage. Strength is the most efficient way of gaining Attack Power though be aware that there are some pieces that have strictly Attack Power on them that could end up being a larger DPS Gain than a Strength piece.
Critical Strike
Critical Strike causes your melee attacks to deal 100% additional damage making your already powerful attacks even more potent. Critical strike is also incredibly valuable as a Retribution Paladin as it procs Vengeance and Righteous Vengeance which are massive DPS increases and increasing the uptime of both of these effects will have a considerable impact on your DPS.
Agility
Agility increases your crit chance and can be a massive DPS increase. At level 35 you unlock the ability to talent for Vengeance, greatly increasing the value of Agility as critical strikes will give you a powerful damage buff.
Hit Chance
Hit chances increases the chance you hit with you attacks/abilities. Missed abilities will deal 0 damage. Hit is incredibly valuable as Retribution Paladin with the addition of Weapon Specialization Runes much less hit rating is required but is still a great way to increase your DPS.
Spell Power
Spell power increases the damage of your spells, giving you more Holy damage from your seal Seal of Righteousness and your Judgement abilities though the addition of abilities like Crusader Strike and Divine Storm have made Attack Power a bit more attractive this is still an incredibly valuable stat but should not be sacrificed for others.
Stamina
1 point of Stamina will grant you 10 health points. Stamina is crucial to being able to survive as there are countless situations where you will be forced to take unavoidable damage. Fortunately most gear will come with Stamina on it so there are not many situations where you will need to seek out this stat.
Intellect
1 point of Intellect gives 15 max Mana and a small increase to your spell crit chance. While Season of Discovery has given us many tools such as Crusader Strike to deal with mana problems it is still beneficial to have a larger Mana pool means more spell casts during an encounter.
