Scholomance Quests Guide

Scholomance's quests are sorted into 2 main chains, with a single non-chain quest for all players and 3 class quests other than this. You can find a list of the chains and quests for this dungeon below.

To obtain the Skeleton Key to access Scholomance, you will need to complete a quest chain in the Western Plaguelands.

The quest chain for Alliance players is as follows:

1. [50] Clear the Way — slay 10 Skeletal Flayers and 10 Slavering Ghouls in Sorrow Hill. This quest is given by Commander Ashlam Valorfist at Chillwind Camp in the Western Plaguelands.
2. [50] All Along the Watchtowers — use the provided Beacon Torch to mark the 4 towers of Andorhal and then return to Ashlam Valorfist in Chillwind Camp.
3. [55] Scholomance — speak to Alchemist Arbington in Chillwind Camp.
4. [55] Skeletal Fragments — bring 15 Skeletal Fragments to Arbington. These can be obtained by killing skeletons in Andorhal.
5. [55] Mold Rhymes With... — bring the fragments and 15 Gold to Krinkle Goodsteel in Gadgetzan.
6. [55] Fire Plume Forged — take the mold and 2 Thorium Bars to Fire Plume Ridge in Un'goro Crater. Use the lava to forge the key.
7. [55] Araj's Scarab — head back to Chillwind Camp and pick up this quest to kill Araj the Summoner in Andorhal. Loot his scarab and bring it back to Arbington.
8. [55] The Key to Scholomance — complete the quest and Arbington will give you your key.

The quest chain for Horde players is as follows:

1. [50] Scarlet Diversions — head to the Scarlet Crusade's base nearby and destroy the tent. Plant the provided Scourge Banner in the ground nearby and return to High Executor Derrington at the Bulwark in the Western Plaguelands.
2. [50] All Along the Watchtowers — use the provided Beacon Torch to mark the 4 towers of Andorhal and then return to Derrington at the Bulwark.
3. [55] Scholomance — speak to Apothecary Dithers at the Bulwark.
4. [55] Skeletal Fragments — bring 15 Skeletal Fragments to Dithers. These can be obtained by killing skeletons in Andorhal.
5. [55] Mold Rhymes With... — bring the fragments and 15 Gold to Krinkle Goodsteel in Gadgetzan.
6. [55] Fire Plume Forged — take the mold and 2 Thorium Bars to Fire Plume Ridge in Un'goro Crater. Use the lava to forge the key.
7. [55] Araj's Scarab — head back to the Bulwark and pick up this quest to kill Araj the Summoner in Andorhal. Loot his scarab and bring it back to Dithers.
8. [55] The Key to Scholomance — complete the quest and Dithers will give you your key.

The quests and chains in this section are all started outside the instance, except for Healthy Dragon Scale, which is reliant on completing one of the quests in this section, so it has been included here.

This quest chain is fairly long and will require multiple trips to Scholomance to complete. The chain can be started by speaking to Eva Sarkhoff in Caer Darrow, in the Western Plaguelands.

The quests are as follows:

1. Doctor Theolen Krastinov, the Butcher (requires Level 55) — find Doctor Theolen Krastinov in Scholomance and kill him. After doing so, burn the bodies of Eva and Lucian Sarkhoff, which can be found on the sides of the Doctor's room.
2. Krastinov's Bag of Horrors (requires Level 55) — return to Scholomance and kill Jandice Barov. Loot Krastinov's Bag of Horrors from her and return to Eva.
3. Kirtonos the Herald (requires Level 55) — enter Scholomance once again and use the Blood of Innocents on the brazier on the balcony to summon Kirtonos the Herald and kill him.
4. The Human, Ras Frostwhisper (requires Level 57) — collect the Keepsake of Remembrance from Stormgarde Keep and bring it back to Magistrate Marduke.
5. The Dying, Ras Frostwhisper (requires Level 57) — head to Light's Hope in the Eastern Plaguelands and find Leonid Barthalomew the Revered.
6. Menethil's Gift (requires Level 57) — head into Stratholme Undead and use the Keepsake of Remembrance in Baron Rivendare's chamber.
7. Menethil's Gift (requires Level 57) — head back to Leonid Barthalomew the Revered at Light's Hope.
8. Soulbound Keepsake (requires Level 57) — return to Magistrate Marduke in Caer Darrow.
9. The Lich, Ras Frostwhisper (requires Level 57) — head into Scholomance and use the Soulbound Keepsake on Ras Frostwhisper to turn him into a human and retrieve his head for Marduke.

To start this quest, you will need to use the Spectral Essence provided by the last quest to see Magistrate Marduke, who can be found just down the hill from Scholomance.

These two quests require Level 55 and start with Betina Bigglezink, located at Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands. She requests you enter Scholomance and slay 20 Plagued Hatchlings, then return to her.

With Plagued Hatchlings complete, next time you are slaying the Plagued Hatchlings in Scholomance, keep an eye out for Healthy Dragon Scale dropping from them. This item starts Healthy Dragon Scale, which requires you to bring the Healthy Dragon Scale back to Betina Bigglezink.

The Alliance have access to Barov Family Fortune, which can is started at Chillwind Camp in the southern Western Plaguelands by speaking with Weldon Barov.

Horde can pick up Barov Family Fortune from Alexi Barov at The Bulwark between Tirisfal Glades and Western Plaguelands.

This quest requires you to enter Scholomance and loot the 4 deeds located throughout the dungeon. These deeds appear on tables and shelves as scrolls.

• The Deed to Southshore is the first one you encounter, located in the back left corner of the first large room you enter.
• The Deed to Tarren Mill is found next, at the back right corner of a large room. This room is the one with the stairway down to Jandice Barov on the right, the door to Rattlegore straight ahead, and a gate to the final part of the instance on the left. It is found in the corner between Jandice's door and the Plagued Hatchling entryway.
• The Deed to Brill is on the right-hand wall, towards the back of Ras Frostwhisper's room.
• The Deed to Caer Darrow is the last one and is found in the room where Alexi Barov is, the eastern most room at the top of Master Gandling's arena.

Once you have obtained all 4 of the deeds, head back to Weldon Barov for the Alliance in Chillwind Camp or Alexi Barov at the Bulwark for the Horde.

This quest chain starts in the Burning Steppes, with Broodling Essence, which is given by Tinkee Steamboil.

Along the chain, you will be tasked with collecting different parts of animals in the Burning Steppes and Winterspring and delivering them to NPCs, which will eventually lead you to Betina Bigglezink in the Eastern Plaguelands.

She will give you the quest Dawn's Gambit, which requires you to head into Scholomance and use the provided Dawn's Gambit in the Viewing Room of the dungeon to summon Vectus. Once he is defeated, you must return to Bettina.

Note that, if multiple people are doing this quest, you should all place your item before killing the boss. It is a requirement of the quest to do so and just killing Vectus is not enough.

There is only 1 quest that is started inside the instance, Healthy Dragon Scale, but we have covered it in the Plagued Hatchlings section above, as it is part of a small chain.

The Warlock questline to obtain the epic class mount Summon Dreadsteed requires you to enter Scholomance for Imp Delivery. To complete this portion of the quest, use the Imp in a Jar in the middle of Ras Frostwhisper's room after defeating him and clearing the room of enemies.

The Shaman questline to obtain the epic helm Skyfury Helm requires you to enter Scholomance for The Darkreaver Menace. To complete this portion of the quest, use the Divination Scryer in the middle of Rattlegore's room after defeating him and clearing the room of enemies. Defeat the enemies and boss that spawn and loot Darkreaver's Head to complete the quest.

The Paladin questline to obtain the epic class mount Summon Charger requires you to enter Scholomance for Judgment and Redemption. To complete this portion of the quest, use the Divination Scryer in the middle of Rattlegore's room after defeating him and clearing the room of enemies.
