Zandalar Tribe Reputation Farming Guide
The Zandalari were the earliest known Trolls, the first tribe from which all tribes originated.
They have come to Yojamba Isle to recruit help against the resurrected Blood God and his Atal'ai priests in Zul'Gurub and the Sunken Temple.
In this guide, we will focus on how to earn reputation with this faction in order to obtain the rewards that they offer.
Zandalar Tribe Reputation in Season of Discovery
While Zul'Gurub was not released yet in Season of Discovery, we will post here about any upcoming changes, as they are released.
Overview
The Zandalar Tribe faction in WoW Classic is a troll faction most closely associated with the Zul'Gurub raid instance.
The main reason for gaining reputation with the tribe is the class-specific head and leg enchants that unlock at Friendly. There are also 3 types of powerful shoulder enchants for every class that unlock at Exalted.
In addition to this, there are also Alchemy and Enchanting recipes that many end-game guilds may look for.
Finally, there are 5-piece Zul'Gurub item sets, made up of the following items. Note that the buffs from these sets are cumulative (so if you have all 5 pieces you will receive the 2-piece, 3-piece, and 5-piece buffs).
- Trinket (Neutral)
- Wrist (Friendly)
- Belt or Shoulders (Honored)
- Chest or Shoulders (Revered)
- Neck (Upgradeable from Friendly to Exalted)
Gaining Reputation
You can mainly earn reputation for the Zandalar Tribe by killing trash and bosses in the Zul'Gurub raid instance. Each full run of Zul'Gurub gives around 2400 to 3000 reputation. The good thing is that Zul'Gurub resets every 3 days, instead of a week, so you can do it more often than other weekly reset raids if you have a group.
Moreover, there are several "repeatable" (really just turn-in) quests that you can complete at Vinchaxa, who can be found on Yojamba Isle, at the west of Zul'Gurub and Northwest of Stranglethorn.
Repeatable Quests
Before you can complete any of the repeatable quests described below, you must first complete a very short quest chain.
Exzhal (on Yojamba Isle) will grant you A Collection of Heads, which requires you to collect the heads of 5 troll bosses from within Zul'Gurub (including multiple heads of the same boss obtained on different resets, if you prefer). Completing this quest will grant 200 reputation with the Zandalar Tribe at Neutral and up to 500 when Revered.
Once this quest is complete, you are eligible for A Bijou for Zanza, given by Vinchaxa, which will show you how to destroy a Hakkari Bijou at the Altar of Zanza. To start this quest, you simply need to have a Hakkari Bijou.
Destroying the Bijou will grant you 75 reputation, and using the Zandalar Honor Token you receive after doing this will also grant you 50 reputation. Completing the quest itself will grant you 150 reputation, and you will also receive another Honor token (as well as yet another one in the mail 24 hours later) as a quest reward, which can be used for an additional 50 reputation. All in all, this quest will reward you with 375 reputation.
From this point onward, you can turn in additional Bijous at the altar, each giving 75 reputation and awarding an Honor Token that gives another 50 when used.
There are other repeatable quests that can be completed with several coin drops from Zul'Gurub.
Gurubashi, Vilebranch, and Witherbark Coins and Zulian, Razzashi, and Hakkari Coins award 25 reputation, while Sandfury, Skullsplitter, and Bloodscalp Coins awards 50 reputation.
All 3 Coin quests also reward a Zandalar Honor Token, which provides a further 50 reputation.
Note that none of Bijous or Coins are soulbound, so they can be bought from and sold at Auction House and can be traded. The Zandalar Honor Tokens, however, are soulbound.
Quartermaster and Rewards
You can buy various recipes that unlock at Friendly, Honored, Revered, and Exalted, as well as the Exalted shoulder enchants, from Rin'wosho the Trader, who can be found on Yojamba Isle, in the hut on the second floor.
Class-Specific Rewards
The Class-Specific rewards from Zul'Gurub raid, including item sets mentioned earlier are not looted directly like other gear that drop from the other dungeon and raid bosses. Instead, Zul'Gurub bosses drop loot related items, something like "Tier Tokens" and you get your rewards with these. Depending on the slot, here are the reputation requirements for each item:
- Trinket (Neutral)
- Wrists (Friendly)
- Belt or Shoulders (Honored)
- Chest or Shoulders (Revered)
- Neck (Upgradable from Friendly to Exalted)
As part of each 5-piece class set, there are neck items that are awarded based on the level of reputation one has achieved with the Zandalar Tribe. The first is awarded at Friendly, and this is upgraded on each subsequent reputation level increase. Note that only the neck awarded at Exalted can complete and give the 5-piece set bonus buff.
For trinkets, you need to defeat the four Edge of Madness mini-bosses.
- Edge of Madness is a subregion of Zul'Gurub inside the raid instance. You can reach it by turning right at the crossroads just past Zanza's Rise.
- At the zone, you will find a lit brazier and a number of tablets along the walls. Tablets on the walls describe each boss and one of these tablets will indicate which boss will spawn by commenting that he is "close to the edge of madness".
- By interacting with tablets, there you can start the scripted event to summon a mini-boss. The mini-bosses who will spawn are: Gri'lek, Renataki, Hazza'rah, and Wushoolay. It must be noted that which one of the four bosses spawns is not random and actually based on a complicated spawn calendar. Because of this, it will take a minimum of one month for all four bosses to spawn and for you to get your class-specific trinket by acquiring items from each one of them.
Aside from these items, as stated before, there are the leg and head enchants for each class, available when at Friendly level and which can only be purchased from Zanza the Restless, a Zandalari loa standing at Zanza's Rise inside the Zul'Gurub instance.
Here is the full list of items, by class, and showing their costs.
