Talent Cheatsheet for Affliction Warlock
Champion of the Light
This fight is 50/50 between multi-target and single target phases. In Normal and Heroic, focus on a single target build, while in Mythic or if your group lacks multi-target, consider talenting Writhe in Agony or Absolute Corruption. Use Felhunter to help interrupt caster adds.
Grong
This is a single target fight; try to use Demonic Circle and possibly Demonic Gateway to reduce the amount of movement required. If you can save a Deathbolt for when the add spawn consider doing so, but do not delay it; in any case try to have at least a couple of shards available for Unstable Affliction. Consider using Dark Pact to mitigate the damage from the missile.
Jadefire Masters
This fight will have at least 2 targets up the whole time, and some adds that need to die as quickly as possible. Warlocks can soak Magma Traps by preplacing Demonic Circle and thus avoiding falling damage. Demonic Gateway is also invaluable during the Maze phase.
In Mythic, remember the dance is a fixed sequence of colours: Blue, Green, Red, Green, Blue.
Opulence
The boss is split into 2 phases: the first is a gauntlet where the raid has to split into two groups, and during the second phase you will fight the boss. Plenty of movement is required during the Gauntlet, so try to minimize it as much as you can. You can use Burning Rush to activate the buff in the 4th room by dropping below 50% health, and remember to save cooldowns for the final room.
You generally want to pick up the Opal jewel, unless specified otherwise by your raidleader.
Use Shadowfury on Spirits of Gold and try to save a Phantom Singularity for them.
In Mythic, when you are being swapped, remember to refresh all DoTs before it happens. Make use of Demonic Circle in Phase Two to place pools at the edges of the room quicker.
Conclave of the Chosen
Despite its appearance, this is mostly a single target fight. Maintain Agony (especially if you have Inevitable Demise) on secondary boss to increase your resource generation. Make use of Burning Rush to avoid orbs and to rush inside the Pa'ku safe zone during its AoE. Consider bringing the Imp to help with defensive dispels.
King Rastakhan
This is a cleave fight in Phase One and single target with multiple targets later on. Maintain DoTs on all 3 minibosses and try to delay your Summon Darkglare until Rastakhan joins the fight. Avoid frogs and various abilities during Phase Two and try to enter Phase Three in the Death Realm with all cooldowns available since Bloodlust/ Heroism will be used there. During Phase Four pay attention to where you run. Make use of Demonic Circle in Phases 3 and 4 to minimize movements and avoid Inevitable End.
High Tinker Mekkatorque
This is a single target encounter with various movement requirements. Make the best use of Demonic Gateway, Demonic Circle, and Burning Rush to deal with both the Shrunk debuff and Gigavolt Charge. Try to enter Phase Three with cooldowns up for when your raid uses Bloodlust/ Heroism.
Your Imp can be used to dispel Polymorph.
Stormwall Blockade
This is a single target fight with periodic add spawns.
Phase One is pretty straightforward, so focus on dodging abilities and coordinate with the rest of the raid to bring down both bosses at the same time.
During Phase Two, if your raid is short on slows, you could consider swapping to Succubus for the 50% permanent slow on 1 of the adds. Try to save a couple of Unstable Afflictions to burst them down as quickly as possible if required.
Use Demonic Gateway and Demonic Circle to minimize the movement when dropping debuffs at the back of the room.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore
This is a single target fight with periodic adds during Phase One. During the whole fight, pay attention to your total health and Chilling Touch stacks: remember that Burning Rush can be used to bypass the slow but if you dip below 80% of maximum health you become stunned inside an Ice Block that has to be destroyed by your teammates.
Save a couple of shards and possibly Haunt for every Marine wave, unless your Priests just Mind Control them. In Phase Two, position Demonic Gateway in conjunction with Demonic Circle to help with the Siegebreaker Blast mechanic and to dodge the Glacial Ray.
In Mythic difficulty, make sure to get into the Phase 3 intermission with all cooldowns up to get the maximum amount of boss damage while Bloodlust is active. You may have to place your Felhunter on the boss to kick Jaina's channeling, once Nathanos is free.
