Affliction Warlock DPS Sanctum of Domination Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.2.5
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Affliction Warlock for each boss of the following raid: Sanctum of Domination. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.5.
Introduction
In this section, you will find information and guidance for each boss individually in Sanctum of Domination as a Affliction Warlock. These are not complete encounter guides, but rather provide specific tips for any Affliction Warlock on each boss.
During the Dragonflight Pre-Patch, Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination, and Sepulcher of the First Ones will be simultaneously featured as Fated Raids. During this time encounters within each specific raid will include an additional mechanic and items will drop at increased item levels. If you would like to learn more general information about the Fated Raids system as a whole, please see our overview below. Otherwise, continue to use this page for specialization-specific tips.
Disclaimer: The tips below are based on Shadowlands Season 4, not Dragonflight changes.
Talent and Legendary Cheatsheet
You can easily import the talent tree below into the game with the following string:
- BkQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEJRCBSTJCSLJJkCAAAAoBAAAAAAQwBKhIJRSk0ECAA
The Tarragrue
We advise you to use the following Legendary against The Tarragrue: Malefic Wrath.
Tips
Before the boss fight starts you will have the ability to choose up to 4 distinct Anima Powers from each Infused Goliath. Below is listed the priority from the strongest options in terms of output:
- Huddled Carvings, if you can achieve high uptime
- Elethium Weights
- Potent Acid Gland
- V'lara's Cape of Subterfuge
- Obleron Venom
- Any of the stat ones, with Haste and Mastery as highest priority
This is a single-target fight with several soaks and mechanics that will involve a bit of predictable movement.
Demonic Circle and potentially Demonic Gateway can be used to facilitate Predator's Howl and Chains of Eternity movements.
Imp can also dispel Predator's Howl if needed.
During Hungering Mist intermissions the AoE can be ignored with the Oddly Intangible Key Anima Power.
Save cooldowns for the last 10% of the fight where it turns into a burst-or-die situation for the whole raid.
For more information, please refer to our The Tarragrue guide.
The Eye of the Jailer
We advise you to use the following Legendary against The Eye of the Jailer: Malefic Wrath.
Tips
This is a single boss with sporadic adds in Phases 1 and 3, and 2 minibosses in Phase 2 that need to be dispatched simultaneously.
Use Demonic Circle to bypass Dragging Chains, but make sure to soak the area of impact.
Annihilating Glare can also be trivialised by correct Demonic Circle placement.
For more information, please refer to our The Eye of the Jailer guide.
The Nine
We advise you to use the following Legendary against The Nine: Malefic Wrath.
Tips
This is a council encounter with 2 phases.
Time Demonic Circle to reduce the downtime caused by Wings of Rage.
Unending Resolve or Dark Pact, if talented, can help with Aradne's Falling Strike soaking.
Save your cooldowns for when the 2 minibosses need to be burned down.
In Phase 2, active mitigation can help if assigned for the Fragments of Destiny mechanic or when targeted by Essence.
For more information, please refer to our The Nine guide.
Remnant of Ner'zhul
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Remnant of Ner'zhul: Malefic Wrath.
Tips
This is a single-target fight with frequent movements and knockbacks.
The Malevolence debuff can be dispelled by Imp, but be careful when doing so and coordinate with the raid.
Demonic Gateway can be used to help low-mobility specs handle the Malevolence mechanic.
For more information, please refer to our Remnant of Ner'zhul guide.
Soulrender Dormazain
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Soulrender Dormazain: Malefic Wrath.
Tips
This is a single-phase boss fight with frequent movements and add waves.
The Warmonger Shackles mechanic can be handled by Demonic Circle and Demonic Gateway.
If needed, adds can be crowd controlled, although Polymorph and Paralysis are better suited for the job.
Agonizing Nova can be interrupted with Felhunter.
For more information, please refer to our Soulrender Dormazain guide.
Painsmith Raznal
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Painsmith Raznal: Malefic Wrath.
Tips
Single target fight with predictable movements.
Make sure to drop Flameclasp Traps away from the raid to avoid accidental triggers. Demonic Circle can be used to handle that mechanic and to bypass Spiked Balls. Use that opportunity to limit any potential knockbacks when also targeted by Shadowsteel Chains.
For more information, please refer to our Painsmith Raznal guide.
Guardian of the First Ones
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Guardian of the First Ones: Malefic Wrath.
Tips
This is a single-target encounter similar to Patchwerk.
Use Unending Resolve or Dark Pact to handle Threat Neutralization.
This fight is otherwise very simple; stay in the proximity of the boss to more easily dodge the occasional ability and focus on your rotation.
For more information, please refer to our Guardian of the First Ones guide.
Fatescribe Roh-Kalo
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Fatescribe Roh-Kalo: Malefic Wrath.
Tips
This is a 3-phase encounter with single-target in Phase 1, a minigame and few adds in Phase 2, and a mix of the previous phases in the last portion of the encounter.
Demonic Circle and Demonic Gateway can help with handling the Call of Eternity bomb mechanic. Alternatively Demonic Gateway can be used to aid the tank in handling the Invoke Destiny mechanic. Pool resources to burn the following add.
Curse of Tongues can be applied on the 5 small adds to reduce the amount of interrupts required if not burned down.
For more information, please refer to our Fatescribe Roh-Kalo guide.
Kel'Thuzad
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Kel'Thuzad: Wrath of Consumption.
Tips
This is a 3 repeating phases encounter with multiple adds.
Demonic Circle can reduce the movement tax of Oblivion's Echo: stack the AoE zone in the designated spot and teleport back in position.
Relentless Haunt adds can be slowed by Curse of Exhaustion or even using Succubus if needed. Alternatively Felhunter can be used to help with interrupting Piercing Wail casts from Soul Fracture adds.
Throughout the fight there will be plenty of possibilities to snipe dying adds so be more liberal with Soul Shard expenditure.
For more information, please refer to our Kel'Thuzad guide.
Sylvanas Windrunner
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Sylvanas Windrunner: Malefic Wrath.
Tips
This is a multiple phase encounter: single-target in Phases 1 and 3 and few adds in Phase 2.
Avoid the obvious ground effects while minimising movements at the same time.
Demonic Circle can be used to increase the distance with the Domination Chains if targeted, but be sure to get close to remove any bleed before using the teleport back.
Both Demonic Circle and Demonic Gateway can be used to outrange Veil of Darkness' large AoE effect.
During the first intermission try to get the most out of Phantom Singularity, dodge Rive and spread out for the Banshee Wail cast.
In Phase 2, if needed, help with kicking the Ruin cast.
During Phase 3, if targeted by Wailing Arrow, make use of Dark Pact or Unending Resolve. Place Demonic Circle away from the boss and possibly closer to the edge to handle the Raze mechanic as well.
For more information, please refer to our Sylvanas Windrunner guide.
