Lore
Aggramar is the penultimate boss encountered in Antorus, the Burning Throne.
Once the noble Avenger of the Pantheon, Aggramar was struck down by Sargeras and reborn as a titan of destruction. He now stands at the core of Argus, guarding a power that could unmake the universe.
Not even demons are permitted to tread within the titan's halls, and any mortals bold enough to trespass will be reduced to cinders by Aggramar's burning blade, Taeshalach.
Outline
Aggramar a three-phase encounter, punctuated by two intermission phases. While a high amount of damage and healing are necessary to succeed in this encounter, the prime focus is on the clean execution of the fight's lethal mechanics.
TL;DR
Tanks
- The two tanks should stay together, as Aggramar's melee attacks are copied to the tank's closest ally.
- Perform a taunt swap at 5+ stacks of Taeshalach's Reach.
- Face Aggramar away from the group(s) during Taeshalach Technique to avoid hitting the raid with Foe Breaker.
Healers
- Have healing ready for Flame Rend during the Taeshalach Technique.
- Be ready to apply quick surgical healing during critical mechanics, such as Wake of Flame.
- Maintain an even spread during the Intermission phases, with slightly denser grouping around the tanks.
- Have throughput cooldowns at the ready to stabilize any errant Blazing Eruptions.
DPS
- Have strong damage ready for the Flame of Taeshalachs and Ember of Taeshalachs that appear during the Intermission phases.
- Soak Flame Rend during Taeshalach Technique while ensuring that Foe Breaker is avoided.
Everyone
- Stay away from allies if you are afflicted with Scorching Blaze.
- Avoid the waves conjured during Wake of Flame.
- Soak Flame Rend when assigned.
- Crowd control as many Ember of Taeshalachs as possible and prevent them from reaching Aggramar.
- Focus down one of the Flame of Taeshalachs during each Intermission.
Positioning
- The DPS and Healers should split into 2 groups in Phases One, Two, and Three. Each group should stack on each of Aggramar's back legs, forming a rough triangle between the 2 groups and the Tanks. When Flame Rend is being cast during Taeshalach Technique, the tanks should face it toward one of the groups, alternating back and forth with each successive Flame Rend.
- The group should spread out around the platform during the Intermission phases, applying crowd control to as many Ember of Taeshalachs as possible. The raid must also burn down one Flame of Taeshalach immediately. As more of the Embers are killed, the group can slowly group up and finish the remaining Flame.
- Players with Scorching Blaze should move backwards and outwards, away from their group.
- Spread out before Flare and Empowered Flare.
Bloodlust/Heroism/Time Warp
We advise you to use Bloodlust/ Heroism/ Time Warp in either Phase Three or the second intermission phase, based on whatever is causing you more problems. There are pros and cons to either choice; there is high DPS efficiency in using it during the final phase, but the second intermission has the most moving parts of any phase.
