Ara-Kara, City of Echoes Layout
Dungeon Profession Buffs and How to Obtain Them
Entering Ara-Kara, City of Echoes, you will be presented with a unique Tailoring exclusive profession bonus interaction, scattered around the map, that will help you deal with important enemies. The location and the purpose of it, you can find below:
- The dungeon-profession buff is available exclusively for Tailoring, so you will be needing a minimum of 25 Skills in that.
- Once you interact with the Discordant Attendant, you will start by Pulling Silk, away from the mob.
- Once you successfully do it, you will be granted a Holding Thread buff that lasts 60 sec. You can use it for a single-target stun (13 sec) on any enemy of your choice (also includes mini-bosses).
Avanoxx + Trash Mobs in the Area
Notable Trash Before Avanoxx
- Ravenous Crawler will cast Ambush on a random party member.
- Your tank must pay attention to Jabbing Flyer's Bleeding Jab stacking Bleed effect.
- Use defensive or Poison dispel when Engorged Crawler casts (uninterruptable) Venomous Spit. In addition, once they drop below 30 % HP they will begin channelling Toxic Rupture. You must outrange it since the cast will likely kill you.
- Your priority when fighting Trilling Attendant is interrupting its Resonant Barrage, as it does pulsating AoE to the whole group. Any spare kicks should be used for Web Bolt.
There are 3 minor bosses located in this dungeon - Ixin, Nakt and Atik. Each of them has unique abilities (and some similar) has a lot more health than the average mob. You MUST defeat all 3 minor bosses to unlock the first boss of the dungeon. Here is what you should know about them:
- Hold your interrupt for (located to the left) Ixin's Horrifying Shrill, if this goes through, your entire group will be feared. In addition, your group must avoid the Web Spray frontal and use any spare kicks for Web Bolt.
- When fighting Nakt (located in the middle), use personal-defensive when he casts Call of the Brood as it will do AoE damage to the entire group. Just like any of its siblings, Nakt will cast both Web Bolt and Web Spray.
- Avoid (located to the right) Atik's Poisonous Cloud ground animation, interrupt its Poison Bolt, and dodge the Web Spray frontal.
Avanoxx Guide
All Roles
- Use defensive cooldowns when Avanoxx uses Alerting Shrill, as it does AoE to the whole group.
- Focus any existing Starved Crawler before they reach you or Avanoxx. They will fixate random party members with Hunger and if they get too close to the boss, she will consume them and gain Insatiable stacking debuff, which will likely wipe the group.
- Avoid any ground swirlies coming from Gossamer Onslaught. During the channel, the boss will do AoE damage to the entire group and place Vile Webbing on the ground (which you should not stand in them), if you by any chance get up to 10 stacks, you will trigger its follow-up Web Wrap effect (you can dispel it).
Tank
- Make sure to use defensive cooldowns during Voracious Bite tank-buster ability.
- Position the boss away from any nearby Starved Crawlers. Any form of crowd control also works on them.
Healer
- Be ready with your healing cooldowns during each Alerting Shrill.
- Make sure to be prepared to top your team during Gossamer Onslaught, especially if any of them stays for a long time in Vile Webbing ground swirlies.
Anub'zekt + Trash Mobs in the Area
Upon defeating Avanoxx, you will unlock the first checkpoint of the dungeon, which you will be able to access at the start of the instance. (to the left)
Notable Trash Before Anub'zekt
- Bloodworker will Charge on random party members, dealing damage.
- Your tank must watch out for Bloodstained Assistant's Extraction Strike, as several of those mobs can create a real danger for them.
- When fighting Bloodstained Webmage, the most important detail is going to be holding interrupt for their Revolting Volley cast, as it will apply Poison debuff to the entire team. Any spare kicks should be used for their Web Bolt.
- Hulking Bloodguard is the only mini-boss in this area, and you should do your best to ignore as many as you can due to their Bulwark of the Weak aura that applies to each enemy. In addition, sidestep their Impale frontal and please make sure you are healthy when they do their Massive Slam AoE damage/stun cast.
- Under no circumstance let Sentry Stagshell finish its Alarm Shrill cast as it will draw any nearby enemies towards them + summon Hulking Bloodguard.
Anub'zekt Boss Guide
All Roles
- Avoid standing in any Ceaseless Swarm ground swirlies.
- Use defensive cooldowns during Infestation cast. Remember, once the DoT effect finishes, you will drop Ceaseless Swarm swirlie.
- Interrupt Bloodstained Webmage's Silken Restraints channel cast and do your best to cleave them all together with Anub'zekt.
- The boss will also randomly target a player for its Burrow Charge; make sure to immediately run away from its follow-up Impale frontal.
- Once the boss reaches 100 energy it will enter its Eye of the Swarm "phase," in which it is extremely important to stay within the designed area so you can avoid taking any additional damage.
Tank
- Face away Impale frontal away from the group (it will always target you).
- Position any nearby Bloodstained Assistant closer to the boss to allow your team to cleave both targets effectively.
Healer
- Be prepared to spot-heal any member that has Infestation debuff on them.
- During Eye of the Swarm "phase," players will gain stacks of Ceaseless Swarm if they stay in it, so be ready to spot-heal them!
Ki'katal the Harvester + Trash Mobs in the Area
Once you defeat Anub'zekt, you will activate the second checkpoint of the dungeon, once again available at the start of the instance (to your left), which will fly you over a location past the second boss.
Notable Trash Before Ki'katal the Harvester
- Sidestep the ground swirlies coming from Blood Overseer's Erupting Webs and interrupt their Venom Volley cast.
- Beware of the quantity of Winged Carriers you are engaging at once as they will randomly attack your party members with Dashing Strike.
Ki'katal the Harvester Boss Guide
All Roles
- Sidestep the ground swirlies coming from Ki'katal the Harvester's Erupting Webs.
- Use Poison dispels for Cultivated Poisons. Beware that upon removal, it will trigger poison waves doing extremely high damage and likely turn lethal depending on the key level.
- Damage enough of the Bloodworkers to force them to drop their Grasping Blood, which later you can use for Singularity cast.
- When Ki'katal the Harvester reaches 100 energy, it will trigger its Singularity channel, at the end of which, if you don't step over Grasping Blood to be deliberately rooted away from the AoE or use an immunity; you will end up dying. Just remember to use any form of crowd control to break loose the root (you don't have to damage it).
Tank
- Bring any Black Bloods closer to the boss so you can enable your party to effectively cleave them without losing single-target.
Healer
- Spot-heal targets that have Cultivated Poisons debuff. Alternatively, use Poison dispel.
