Assassination Rogue Mists of Pandaria: Remix Guide — The War Within Pre-Patch

Below, you will find our recommended leveling build and talent pickup order for your Assassination Rogue in MoP Remix. Assassination Rogue will want to make some changes depending on whether you are engaging in Raid content, or Dungeon and Open World content, so below you will be able to find builds for both activities.

Gems are one of the unique ways to augment your character in MoP Remix, offering offensive, defensive, and utility benefits. On this page, we list the best gems for each type. To learn more about Gems in MoP Remix in general, check out our dedicated page below.

• Meta Gem: Oblivion Sphere for personal DPS or Tireless Spirit to help out your fellow players.
• Cogwheel Gem: Blink
• Prismatic Gems:

  You will have a tremendous amount of stats as you start unlocking all Gem slots, and there is no single best stat to stack. Generally speaking, chase for Haste, Versatility, and Critical Strike Gems in a healthy balance as a lot of your damage will come from Tinker Gems, which do not scale with our Mastery.

  • Lightning Rod
  • Wildfire
  • Incendiary Terror
  • Fervor
  • Sunstrider's Flourish
  • Brilliance

To keep things as simple as possible while leveling and learning the spec, use the slider to select your level, to learn a little bit more about how and when to use the abilities you unlocked.

When using our slider, note that some talents may appear sooner than you expect them to in the rotation. This is because we have two recommended builds above, each taking talents at slightly different times, and sometimes entirely different talents.

1. Make sure you always have Instant Poison and Crippling Poison applied. Sometimes, it can be beneficial to not use Crippling Poison if you do not want to slow the enemies you are fighting. Simply right-click on the buff icon, and it will be removed.
2. Make sure you always have Deadly Poison and Crippling Poison applied. Sometimes, it can be beneficial to not use Crippling Poison if you do not want to slow the enemies you are fighting. Simply right-click on the buff icon, and it will be removed.
3. Make sure you always have Deadly Poison and Numbing Poison applied.
4. Make sure you always have Deadly Poison, Amplifying Poison, Numbing Poison and Crippling Poison applied. Sometimes it can be beneficial to not use Crippling Poison if you do not want to slow the enemies you are fighting. Simply right-click on the buff icon, and it will be removed.
5. Use Deathmark on bosses or elite enemies.
6. Once talented into Indiscriminate Carnage, make sure to open from stealth when fighting multiple enemies, and apply Garrote and Rupture to all your enemies. The buff lasts 10 seconds, but you can only cast empowered Garrote for 3 seconds after leaving stealth.
7. Use Shadow Dance on cooldown. You can use Ambush on single-target, spread Garrote on multiple enemies, or simply use it as a damage amplification thanks to Nightstalker. On high-health enemies, you want to refresh both your Garrote and Rupture while Shadow Dance is active, in order to snapshot the Nightstalker bonus damage.
8. Use Kingsbane on single or high-priority targets. Use Shadow Dance right before it, so the entire Kingsbane deals 10% extra damage thanks to Nightstalker.
9. Use 4+ Combo Points to keep up Slice and Dice at all times. You can use this ability while stealthed.
10. Cast Garrote from stealth. If there are multiple enemies, use Garrote on 3 different targets (if possible).
11. Cast Ambush once from Stealth if there is only one target.
12. Use and maintain Crimson Tempest if there are 3 or more targets.
13. Spend your Combo Points to maintain Rupture on multiple targets.
14. Cast Eviscerate to spend excess Combo Points.
15. Use Kidney Shot to spend excess Combo Points against enemies you want to stun. Watch out for enemies that are immune to stuns.
16. Use Shiv on bosses and enemies with very high Health.
17. Use Envenom to spend excess Combo Points on single-target.
18. Use Sinister Strike unless you have 4+ Combo Points.
19. Use Mutilate unless you have 4+ Combo Points.
20. Use Fan of Knives instead of Mutilate when fighting 4 or more targets.
