Assassination Rogue DPS Ny'alotha Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.2.5

In this section, you will find information and guidance for Assassination Rogues on each boss individually in the Ny'alotha Raid Dungeon. These are not complete encounter guides, but rather provide specific tips for doing the bosses as a Assassination Rogue.

The page will be updated based on live server experience with the bosses, after the raid releases on the 21st January.

If you do not have access yet to all of the recommended Minor Essences, you can use Blood-Soaked instead.

We advise you to use the following essences against Wrathion, the Black Emperor.

Feint and Cloak of Shadows work against Incineration, Gale Blast and Burning Cataclysm. Using Cloak of Shadows to remove Incineration will still deal damage to the raid.

Mythic: Cloak of Shadows and Vanish both remove all stacks of Creeping Madness.

Mythic: Cloak of Shadows can be used to remove Ancient Curse without having to use one of the Devoured Abyss zones.

Mythic: No new gameplay mechanics are added on this fight on Mythic difficulty.

Feint reduces the damage taken from both Torment and Soul Flay. Cloak of Shadows makes you immune to the damage of Torment and removes your Soul Flay debuff without you taking any damage from it.

Mythic: The Awakened Terror needs to be dealt with on Mythic difficulty and just needs to be interrupted properly.

Use Feint and Cloak of Shadows to reduce or fully negate the damage from Devouring Frenzy and Volatile Eruption. If you get hit by Spawn Acidic Aqir you can remove the Corrosion debuff with Cloak of Shadows.

Using Kidney Shot and Blind to stop Aqir Darters from jumping around will help your raid to kill them much more quickly. Prey on the Weak is very useful for improving everyone's damage to these adds.

Mythic: Cloak of Shadows can be used to immune Echoing Void.

After soaking Entropic Buildup, you can remove the stacks with Cloak of Shadows. Feint will reduce the damage you take while soaking.

Mythic: Use Shadowstep to quickly get back to the boss after picking up the Tasty Morsel.

Reaping Flames can be incredibly useful on this fight. Using it on tentacles that are about to die will fully reset its cooldown and grant you the 100% bonus damage increase on your next cast. Always use this ability on enemies that are either about to die, or still above 80% HP.

Feint and Cloak of Shadows should be used on every cast of Entropic Crash. Using Cloak of Shadows while debuffed with Mutterings of Insanity will instantly remove the debuff, but stun everyone around you. Only use this if there is no one else inside your circle.

Mythic: It is highly recommended to play Breath of the Dying as the major Essence on this fight to deal with the additional tentacle spawns.

You can use Cloak of Shadows to remove Encroaching Shadows early. You will still drop a puddle beneath you, so make sure to do this far away from the rest of the raid. Cloak of Shadows also works against Heart of Darkness to completely mitigate the damage and fear.

Kidney Shot and Blind are useful to disrupt the Sinister Soulcarver adds spawned during the first phase. Interrupting their Spiteful Assault as soon as possible is of very high priority.

Mythic: Use Shadowstep to quickly get away from the Enforcer adds that spawn on this difficulty. Cloak of Shadows does not work against her Twilight Decimator.

Feint can be used to mitigate the damage when soaking Void Eruption. Save Cloak of Shadows in case you get the Void Collapse debuff. Cloak of Shadows will let you immune this debuff outside of the raid without applying the healing reduction debuff to anyone else in the raid.

Mythic: Cloak of Shadows and Feint should be used to solo-soak the Void Collapse whenever possible. Do not use Crimson Vial when affected by Corrupted Existence, unless absolutely necessary.

Feint and Cloak of Shadows work against both Corruptor's Gaze and Cursed Blood. Evasion can be used to tank a Blood of Ny'alotha add that is fixating you. As long as Evasion is active you will not gain Recurring Nightmare stacks.

Mythic: Depending on the strategy your guild will be playing on this fight, it is advised to remove Cloak of Shadows from your hotkeys. Using this ability could lead to an instant wipe when used at the wrong time.

Feint and Cloak of Shadows will mitigate or reduce the effects of Madness Bomb. Using Cloak of Shadows will still fear and drain Sanity of surrounding players.

Mythic: Cloak of Shadows should only be used to negate the Sanity loss you receive from Infinite Darkness casts. Using it before or while affected by Madness Bomb will most likely lead to an instant raid wipe.

Cloak of Shadows can be used to immune the damage taken from Paranoia while you try to stack up with the player that is linked to you. Shadowstep can be used to quickly get to the player you are linked with. Cloak of Shadows also negates all damage and sanity drain from all abilities of this encounter. It is best used in phase 2 to mitigate damage from Eternal Torment and to help soak Harvest Thoughts in stage 3.

Mythic: Playing Elusiveness is highly recommended on this fight to reduce the damage you take from Evoke Anguish. Using Vision of Perfection lets you use Vendetta more often to kill high priority targets throughout the fight. Cloak of Shadows is often utilized to immune-soak Harvest Thoughts in Phase 2 and 3 of the encounter.

Depending on whether your raid-group has enough DPS to deal with Psychus during the Mindgates, Assassination Rogues can play a different Azerite setup to deal huge amounts of damage to it. This requires 3 Shrouded Suffocation and 1-3 Nothing Personal, as well as talenting into Exsanguinate.
