Assassination Rogue PvP Stat Priority, Gear, and Trinkets — The War Within (11.0.7)

The stat priority for Assassination Rogues in PvP is as follows:

1. Agility;
2. Versatility;
3. Mastery;
4. Haste;
5. Critical Strike.

Agility is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the most vital secondary stat because it increases your damage and reduces the damage you take. Mastery is the second-best stat. It is a flat damage increase to Bleeds and Poisons. Mastery is the highest damage increase per stat point you can have. However, it still comes behind Versatility because Versatility also helps you survive. Haste increases the tick rate of your bleeds, giving you more damage but also more Energy through the passive Venomous Wounds, and is your third-best stat. Critical Strike increases your damage and your Combo point generation through the passive Seal Fate and is the least desirable stat but remains acceptable.

You want to use PvP items as much as possible since they have increased item level in PvP combat. This is what your gear should look like:

• Shoulders: K'areshi Phantom's Emptiness
• Cloak: Forged Gladiator's Shawl
• Chest: K'areshi Phantom's Nexus Wraps

• Waist: Forged Gladiator's Leather Strap

Cyrce's Circlet is a new ring introduced in Patch 11.0.7 that you can acquire by completing several activities on Siren Isle. The ring has 3 sockets, which can fit a different kind of gem each. All their effects are heavily nerfed in PvP so you will not be using that new ring.

In The War Within, you can craft PvP items without a spark. All that is required are components that cost Conquest Points or Honor Points depending on the item level you desire. This makes it easy to improve the gear list displayed above with targeted crafts.

Eventually, you want to replace every item that is not Mastery/Versatility with a crafted item with those stats while keeping a little bit of Haste so as not to feel Energy starved. But what you should craft first are two items with Embellishments. The best Embellishment available is Duskthread Lining, for increased Versatility. It is worth mentioning that if you are able to craft PvE items with maximum item level, then Adrenal Surge Clasp combined with Writhing Armor Banding, is great (but it is not available on crafted PvP gear).

Note: it is essential to be wearing 2 PvP trinkets. This will increase your Agility and Stamina by a significant amount.

Forged Gladiator's Medallion is a mandatory trinket to have equipped at all times. This allows you to remove any crowd control on yourself. You will use this trinket if you are stunned and will die in this stun, or on any form of CC if one of your teammates will die and you can save them.

Forged Gladiator's Insignia of Alacrity is a good sustained damage trinket. It will randomly give you a main stat buff. It will be your default second trinket.

Forged Gladiator's Emblem increases your maximum health when used. This gives you an additional defensive when you are the target. The health increase is significant and will very often save your life if you use it when the enemy team is using cooldowns on you and your healer is in crowd control.

• Wrists: Enchant Bracer - Chant of Armored Speed
• Legs: Stormbound Armor Kit
• Boots: Enchant Boots - Scout's March
• Rings: Enchant Ring - Radiant Mastery
• Main Hand Weapon: Enchant Weapon - Authority of Radiant Power
• Off Hand Weapon: Enchant Weapon - Authority of Radiant Power

One of your gems should be Enduring Bloodstone, and all your remaining gems should be either Versatile Onyx or Quick Onyx, depending on whether you want to be a little more tanky or deal a little more damage.
