Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Assassination Rogue in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats, followed by advice on how to choose your gear and your trinkets.
Stat Priority for Assassination Rogues in PvP
The stat priority for Assassination Rogues in PvP is as follows:
Agility is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the most vital secondary stat because it increases your damage and reduces the damage you take.
Mastery is the second-best stat. It is a flat damage increase
to Bleeds and Poisons. Mastery is the highest damage increase per
stat point you can have. However, it still comes behind Versatility because
Versatility also helps you survive. Critical Strike increases your damage
and your Combo Point generation through the passive
Seal Fate.
Haste increases the tick rate of your bleeds, giving you more damage
but also more Energy through the passive
Venomous Wounds. However,
since the current gameplay of Assassination revolves around bleeding as many
targets as possible, energy should never be an issue, so Haste is the least
desirable stat.
Gear Recommendations
You want to use PvP items as much as possible since they have increased item level in PvP combat. It is essential to be wearing 2 PvP trinkets. This will give you a Stamina and stat boost that will increase your survivability.

Assassination Rogue Tier Sets
As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed to 50% effectiveness in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances to win. For Assassination Rogues, this is your tier set:
- 2-set:
Envenom damage increased by 10% and it increases
your damage dealt by 3%. - 4-set:
Deadly Poison increases your bleed damage on the target
by 10%. Auto-attacks to targets with your
Amplifying Poison
deal 3% increased damage per stack.
Wound Poison hits a second time.
In general, it is recommended to get both 2-set and 4-set for Assassination Rogues
Assassination Rogue Embellishments
Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These effects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have two Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Assassination Rogue:
Arcanoweave Lining is the best embellishment for Assassination
Rogues. This gives your spells and abilities a chance to empower
an ally, increasing you and your teammate's primary stat. This is great for
increasing your overall damage output.

Here are the best enchants for a Assassination Rogue:
- Helmet:
Enchant Helm - Blessing of Speed - Shoulder:
Enchant Shoulders - Akil'zon's Swiftness - Chest:
